Chapter 601 Learning About the Pregnancy
When the Crystal Peaks factory caught fire, Fiorello had been secretly investigating the mastermind behind it.
Recently, Fiorello discovered that it might be related to Kyle, whom he had offended a few years ago.
A few years back, Fiorello and Kyle were competing for a piece of land. Fiorello won the bid at the base price.
Kyle had invested a lot in it, but it was all in vain. Unwilling to accept the loss, Kyle tried to ambush Fiorello on the night of the bid, but Fiorello narrowly escaped and even managed to slash Kyle's face with a knife.
Since then, Kyle had disappeared from the business circle, and Fiorello had almost forgotten about him.
Holding Maggie's hand, Fiorello said, "I'll handle these matters, you don't need to worry."
Maggie wanted to share Fiorello's burden, but her abilities were limited.
At that moment, Maggie realized that Fiorello's glamorous exterior masked the unimaginable pressure he was under.
With great power comes great responsibility. Visionary Futures Group had thousands of employees, and Fiorello couldn't afford to make any hasty decisions.
Maggie tightened her grip on Fiorello's hand and said, "Let's go back to the room and rest. There will be a way."
Seeing his exhaustion, Maggie didn't mention her pregnancy, thinking it wouldn't be too late to tell him after this matter was resolved.
Fiorello went back to the room and slept for a while. At dawn the next day, he left again.
With Holden in trouble, Joseph and Eleanor were very worried and didn't come to Sunset Hills.
Mark had returned to London some time ago, so only Maggie, Arya, and Erin were living in the villa.
Mark and Ashley hadn't divorced, and he was unwilling to hand over the company to his son.
Mark didn't want to relinquish power; he felt he was still young and could work for decades more.
Maggie also told him that his stroke was caused by poisoning, and Mark wanted to investigate who had poisoned him.
Maggie, not feeling well, rested at home for two days and didn't go out to look for Adalia.
The police hadn't stopped searching for Adalia, but with many cases to handle, they couldn't focus solely on her disappearance without new leads.
In the following days, Fiorello left early and returned late. The person behind the scenes wanted Holden in jail and would naturally expose Holden's bribery.
Holden was taken away for investigation, and the news quickly spread, causing Visionary Futures Group's stock to plummet.
The bigger the company, the more the actions of its decision-makers affected its fate.
Fiorello was overwhelmed, and Maggie could only take care of him in daily life, bringing him meals.
Fiorello was so busy that he often forgot to eat.
With Holden under investigation, Eleanor was very worried and could only confide in Arya.
To cheer Eleanor up, Arya told her about Maggie's pregnancy. Knowing Maggie was pregnant, Eleanor felt much better.
After Eleanor found out, Fiorello naturally learned about it too.
Fiorello was in a company meeting when he received Eleanor's call. Upon hearing about Maggie's pregnancy, he immediately paused the meeting and rushed home.
Maggie didn't know Arya had told anyone. She was in the room investigating Adalia's disappearance, marking all suspicious people, their words, and the clues she had found on a blackboard.
Maggie still suspected Isabella. Although she hadn't found anything unusual while following her, Isabella's words at the store entrance lingered in her mind.
As Maggie was deep in thought, Fiorello suddenly burst in, having run upstairs after arriving home, still catching his breath.
"What's wrong?" Maggie asked, thinking something had happened. "Is there a change in Holden's situation?"
Fiorello strode towards Maggie, reaching for her belly, his voice low, "Mom just called me. You're pregnant? Maggie, is it true? We're having another child?"
So that's what it was.
Maggie relaxed and said, "Yes, Dr. Mason confirmed it. I haven't gone to the hospital for a check-up yet."
With so much going on, she hadn't felt like going to the hospital. Dylan's medical skills were good, and she trusted his prescriptions.
Hearing Maggie's confirmation, Fiorello hugged her excitedly, "Maggie, from now on, you don't have to do anything. Just take care of yourself and our baby. This is our hope. I'm going to be a dad."
Fiorello was even more excited than the last time. He had a feeling this child was the reincarnation of their previous one.
When he held his son's body back then, he had promised that if the child came back to him, he would protect him well.
Fiorello's overwhelming joy made Maggie a bit uneasy. The child hadn't even been born yet, and he was already so happy. If the child had been born, all his attention would be on the baby, and Adalia might truly be forgotten.
