Chapter 315 The Foolish Teammate
Maggie's heart pounded.
She could feel the footsteps behind her growing closer and closer. She dared not make a move and pretended to be asleep.
Just as she sensed the person was right behind her, she swiftly drew out her stun baton, closed her eyes tightly, and, swung it towards the person despite her fear.
"It hurts, honey. Are you trying to kill your husband?" A familiar voice echoed in the dim light.
Maggie was stunned for a moment. She opened her eyes and looked. "Fiorello?"
In the dim light, as her eyes adjusted to the light, she could roughly make out his features.
Maggie was utterly shocked. "How could it be you?"
Fiorello rubbed his arm where the stun baton had struck, looking helpless yet indulgent. "Honey, that was quite a hit. I almost died."
The stun baton's power was indeed formidable. Fiorello's arm still felt numb.
Thinking about how scared she had been and seeing Fiorello joking around, Maggie got angry and raised the stun baton. "I'll electrocute you! You really scared me just now."
Maggie was just putting on a show. She couldn't bear to really shock Fiorello.
Fiorello smiled and said, "I missed you and wanted to give you a surprise."
As he spoke, he tried to hug Maggie but accidentally touched the stun baton again, letting out a "hiss" from the shock.
"Fiorello, let me take a look. Where did it shock you?" Maggie was extremely nervous. She quickly turned off the stun baton and threw it aside, hurriedly checking if Fiorello was hurt.
Seeing Maggie's concern, Fiorello immediately covered his arm and said, "It hurts. It's numb. I can't move."
Maggie believed his words and asked anxiously, "Where does it hurt? Let me see."
Maggie was a bit flustered. She didn't know if he was really hurt or how serious it was.
The stun baton was indeed very powerful.
"Here." Fiorello grabbed Maggie's hand and placed it on his chest, his eyes full of affection. "It hurts because I missed you."
Realizing she had been tricked again, Maggie angrily stomped on Fiorello's foot. "If you keep this up, I'll really remarry tomorrow."
Fiorello quickly placated her, "Alright, it's all my fault. I won't tease you anymore. I really missed you. I couldn't sleep without you, so I rushed here overnight to give you a surprise."
Maggie rolled her eyes and said, "The surprise almost turned into a fright."
She had almost been schemed against by Ashley, and Fiorello still scared her at this time. He was asking for trouble.
"Maggie." Fiorello's hands started to wander with a seductive voice.
Maggie said coldly, "Don't get all frisky."
Coming all this way, he would feel it was a waste of the helicopter fuel if he didn't have sex with Maggie.
Fiorello scooped Maggie up in his arms. "I only get frisky with you."
Loving someone naturally included loving their body. If that wasn't the case, then something was definitely wrong.
Maggie was both amused and exasperated. "Aren't you tired? Go take a shower first."
"Let's shower together," Fiorello said in a husky voice. "I want to shower with you."
Maggie was stunned. This was not the polite Fiorello she once knew.
Indeed, men could only escalate in their fervor when it came to matters of intimacy.
At the critical moment, she said, "Wait, you didn't bring a condom."
"Do we still need one?"
Maggie also laughed. It seemed they didn't need one. Both of them were infertile.
Ever since they found out they were infertile, they hadn't used condoms during their intimate moments.
It was a complete waste.
Maggie had a wonderful night's sleep, but Ashley couldn't sleep at all.
Ashley felt cold all over. The thought that Maggie might have evidence to accuse her of kidnapping and extracting bone marrow made her shiver.
Ashley returned to the Jackson's home and hurriedly talked to Mark, "Mark, I'm done. Maggie has outsmarted me. You have to help me."
"What happened?" Mark looked bewildered. It was the first time he had seen Ashley so panicked.
Ashley gritted her teeth and said, "I hired two fools to kidnap Maggie and planned to send her to Quentin to extract her bone marrow. But Maggie outsmarted me. She found out. So, not only did I fail to kidnap her, but I also exposed myself. What if Maggie takes the evidence and sues me?"
After hearing this, Mark felt a headache. "How could you be so foolish? You should have found reliable people to do this kind of thing. You even showed up yourself. You practically handed over the evidence. This is illegal."
