Chapter 595 Deliberately Revealing Clues
Arya acted immediately and bought some items to take to Olivia's house that very afternoon.
Isabella had just returned not long ago and was staying in her room.
Olivia was arguing with Frank about Isabella's dating situation. Olivia didn't want to give up on Isabella and tried to find her a good match, but Isabella didn't want to go. Frank also felt it was a bit too much, so they started arguing.
Isabella stayed in her room, listening to her parents' argument. She put earplugs in her ears to block out the noise.
At that moment, the doorbell rang. Frank said to Olivia, "I'm not arguing with you," and then went to open the door.
Frank was quite surprised to see Arya standing at the door. Arya smiled and said, "Frank, I bought some imported fruits and seafood for you to try."
"Come in, we're all family. No need to be so polite," Frank said, inviting her in.
Olivia was also quite surprised that Arya would come. Looking at the things Arya brought, she said jealously, "Now that you're rich, it's different. You used to bring cheap snacks, but now it's seafood and imported fruits."
Frank signaled to Olivia and scolded, "Why are you speaking so harshly? Arya brought you things and came to see you, and you don't appreciate it."
Arya smiled and said, "It's okay, Olivia is still mad at me. When Adalia went missing, she was anxious and said some unpleasant things. Olivia, don't take it to heart. Where's Isabella? Let her try these fruits; they're very sweet."
Arya didn't argue with Olivia this time. Her purpose was to test the waters, so no matter what Olivia said, she wouldn't get angry.
Olivia sneered, sitting on the sofa with her legs crossed, "I wouldn't dare be mad at you. You're the mother-in-law of the head of Visionary Futures Group. Fiorello could easily ruin us common folks with a snap of his fingers."
Frank nudged Olivia, signaling her to stop speaking so harshly.
Olivia glared at Frank, "I'm just stating the facts."
Frank didn't bother to persuade Olivia anymore and said to Arya, "Isabella is in her room. She doesn't like going out, so we won't call her."
"Isabella doesn't like going out anymore?" Arya asked, "That's not good, Frank. Staying at home for too long can make a person sick. She needs to go out more to feel better."
"Her face is so disfigured that she doesn't feel like going out," Frank sighed. "She might not go out for ten days or even half a month. We can't do anything about it."
Hearing that Isabella hardly ever went out, Arya felt a bit disappointed. If she didn't go out, how could she take Adalia away?
Arya asked, "Is there no way to treat it?"
"Her injuries are too severe; it's hard to treat," Frank said. "Isabella loves beauty, and this has been a big blow to her."
"All these poor kids," Arya sighed. "Since Adalia went missing, Maggie hasn't been well either. She goes out every day looking for the child. It's been three months now, and today the police said they finally have a lead."
This last part was something Maggie had taught Arya to say before she left, deliberately revealing that the police had a lead. If Isabella were indeed the one who took Adalia, she would definitely react upon hearing this.
Since Isabella wouldn't come out, Arya deliberately said this to Olivia.
Hearing that there was a lead, Olivia paid close attention but didn't dare to speak on the topic. Only Olivia knew that Isabella was the one who took Adalia.
As time passed, Olivia thought it was over, but now that Arya brought it up, she felt guilty.
Frank asked, "Did they find her?"
"No," Arya said. "When I left, the police came to our house to talk to Maggie. The person who took Adalia was dressed as a character from Peppa Pig, which Adalia loves to watch."
Hearing about the Peppa Pig costume, Olivia got nervous. When she came home that day, she saw a Peppa Pig costume at home, which was still in Isabella's room.
Arya deliberately left the story unfinished and changed the topic, saying, "I believe the police will find her. Having a lead is a good thing."
At this point, Olivia was very anxious and couldn't help but ask, "What else did the police find?"
