Chapter 250 Planned Everything

Maggie felt inferior and uneasy for a long time because of this matter.

In fact, this matter should have been handled cleanly and decisively.

Even if Fiorello didn't accept it in the end, they could have just parted ways amicably.

If she had been in a state of inferiority throughout this marriage, it wouldn't have been good for either of them. A marriage filled with deception cannot last long and will only lead to deeper troubles.

With the words out, Maggie said, "Fiorello, I'm sorry for keeping this from you. The child was actually abandoned by my mother back then, and I only recently remembered it. I will find the child and fulfill my responsibility. I know this is hard for you to accept, but I chose to tell you myself. I also don't want you to hear about it from someone else, so I..."

He interrupted her unfinished words. "So you want us to separate again?"

Maggie looked at him and nodded. "I will accept whatever decision you make. This is something that everyone will find hard to accept—having a child before marriage."

He calmly interrupted her. "I have known about this for a long time."

She was surprised. "How did you know?"

"Sam came to see me," Fiorello confessed. "He used this to threaten me, to blackmail me. I sent him straight to jail."

His tone was light as if sending someone to jail was as easy as having a meal.

He had known the secret she had been unable to speak of all along, and had always been good to her.

Maggie remembered what Dulce had said before, that Sam had been sentenced for blackmail. She had never thought that this matter would be related to Fiorello.

"Why have you never told me?"

"It's a trivial matter; no need to trouble you with it," he replied,

What she had been afraid of turned out to be a trivial matter to him.

"Do you not mind at all?" she asked, finding it hard to believe.

He held both her hands and said affectionately, "I don't mind. That's your past. I only regret not meeting you earlier. You are my wife, and I worked so hard to win over you. If you leave, I would be heartbroken. So, dismiss any thoughts of divorce. In this lifetime, you can only live well with me."

Maggie was indeed the one that Fiorello had worked hard to win over.

But to Maggie, she didn't take this sentence seriously.

Maggie was deeply moved. "Fiorello, you are so good, and I am not worthy of your kindness."

He smiled. "You are unique in the world. Don't belittle yourself."

He then became serious and said, "Maggie, I must tell you, when I first heard about it, I was indeed shocked, but I know you didn't intentionally deceive me. You are the wife I chose, so it can't be wrong. I don't care about your past; I only think about our future."

"Fiorello," Maggie cried tears of joy, unable to describe her feelings in words.

"Maggie," Fiorello wiped her tears. "You've kept this inside for so long. Do you feel better now that you've spoken about it?"

Maggie laughed and cried. "You knew I was hiding it all along, yet you remained calm. Fiorello, you are truly a rascal."

She playfully punched him a few times, and he caught her hand, holding it in his palm with a smile on his face. "You women are so excessively emotional. Anyway, you are my wife now. You promised just now not to leave, and we will grow old together."

"Fiorello," Maggie glared at him in anger. "You rascal."

He leaned down to kiss her, the gentle kiss being the sweetest sugar.

The two of them were completely oblivious to Adalia waking up on the hospital bed.

Adalia saw her parents kissing and covered her face with both hands but couldn't resist peeking through her fingers, smiling secretly.
