Chapter 638 Mark's Punishment Arrives

Maggie wanted to deduce who was most likely to harm Mark based on their reactions.

"After all, this kind of thing requires evidence."

On the other end of the phone, Mark heard Maggie's voice and quickly said, "Maggie, you need to come to London immediately. The company must not fall into the hands of those siblings. The Jackson family started with the wine business. Look at those two, making a mess with short videos and social media. Every time I enter the company, I get a headache. It's full of young girls and boys, flaunting themselves and begging on the internet. How is that different from begging on the street?"

Mark was criticizing Melissa and Timothy's management style over the phone. Mark, with his old-fashioned mindset, couldn't appreciate this new model.

Maggie didn't interrupt Mark, letting him vent first. She put the call on speaker, and Arya listened in as well.

Mark, emotionally charged, said, "If this continues, the Jackson family's decades-old foundation will be ruined, and its image will be completely tarnished. I went to check the warehouse; they were mixing fake and real products. Isn't that destroying our reputation? What is live-streaming sales but street hawking?"

Listening to Mark's angry tone, it seemed that his return this time had indeed been a significant blow.

After Mark finished speaking, Maggie patiently asked, "Now that the Jackson Group's market value is rising and you no longer have a position in the company, do you have any other plans? Fiorello and I don't intend to get involved; it would also affect Visionary Futures Group's reputation."

"They're making quick money, but it's not sustainable. If something goes wrong, it's over. The Jackson family will be like a bubble, disappearing overnight." Mark sighed, "Maggie, I know it's a bit difficult for you and Fiorello, but this is my wish. Can you help me out?"

Maggie pondered, "I asked you earlier, who had the biggest reaction when you said you were returning to the company?"

"Ashley, she almost tore the house down." Mark was embarrassed to say that he had fought with Ashley, his face was scratched, and he was almost kicked out of the house. His current situation was miserable.

Timothy acted too quickly, taking over the company and buying off the senior staff.

When Mark went to see the previous shareholders, they all advised him that it was time to step down.

Hearing it was Ashley, Maggie frowned, "What about Melissa's reaction?"

"Melissa was actually quite good, trying to persuade her mom. Timothy forced me to choose between your mom and Ashley and even said he'd take care of me in my old age. It's clear he doesn't want to step down." Mark got angrier as he spoke, his emotions escalating.

Seeing Mark so angry, Maggie said, "Dad, let's put this matter aside for now. Don't get too worked up. I'll call you back later. Don't be stubborn, and don't forget how you got sick before."

She genuinely didn't want to get involved, fearing the trouble, and also wanted to use this opportunity to teach Mark a lesson.

Mark had enjoyed the good life with Ashley in the first half of his life, having both a son and a daughter. Now he wanted to rely on her and her mother again. It wasn't going to be that easy; he couldn't have all the good things.

Maggie was now advising Mark to prioritize his health, to avoid being poisoned again.

Mentioning his illness made Mark fall silent.

After hanging up the phone, Mark sat on the balcony smoking. He looked at the family he had built and reflected on the past decades, with all sorts of emotions swirling in his heart.

Mark smoked and laughed self-deprecatingly. In the first half of his life, he was selfish, abandoning Arya and Maggie for the Jackson family's inheritance. Now, he was facing retribution. Of his three children, only Maggie was kind enough to still care for him. If he had to rely on Melissa and Timothy, he would spend the rest of his life bedridden.

"Dad, you're still up." Melissa smiled as she pushed the door open, bringing a cup of nutritional soup. "Still upset with Timothy? Have some nutritional soup to calm down. We're all family. Timothy is doing well with the company now. Dad, haven't you always wanted Timothy to succeed? Isn't this exactly what you wished for?"

Mark looked at the nutritional soup handed to him, took it, and placed it on the table without drinking it. "Melissa, your health isn't good. Go to bed early. Girls shouldn't stay up late often."

"Dad, I'm worried about you. You and Timothy are at odds, and this family is not united. I miss how the family used to be." Melissa held Mark's hand. "Dad, the Jackson Group is still the Jackson family's. It won't become the White family's. Don't worry."

Hearing this, Mark was shocked and looked at Melissa with a surprised expression.
