Chapter 494 Dealing with the Holmes Group

Fiorello thought for a moment. "The Holmes family sure has big plans."

He wasn't clueless about what the Holmes family was up to. Fiorello had been in the business game for years and wasn't easily fooled.

Brian chimed in, "Mr. Flores, Mr. Joseph Flores just hinted that Gregory should come back. If he marries into the Holmes family, it's obvious Gregory wants to challenge you for power. Are you really going to let Gregory return to the Flores family? Last time at home, those people were definitely stirred up by Gregory. If he joins the Flores family, he could be a hidden threat."

Fiorello's eyebrows knitted together. "Then cut off his escape route. Keep a close eye on the Holmes family."

Brian was confused. "Mr. Flores, are you planning to go after the Holmes family?"

Fiorello replied with a hint of menace, "Everyone has to pay for their actions."

If Jenny hadn't stirred things up, Kimberly wouldn't have questioned the parentage of Maggie's baby, and things wouldn't have escalated to this point.

Right now, Fiorello wished he could get rid of Jenny.

The Holmes family had no reason to stick around anymore.

Brian's car was at an intersection on a busy street. While waiting for the red light, Fiorello's eyes caught a familiar figure in the square.

It was Maggie.

Even through the crowd, he recognized her instantly.

Fiorello's calm heart was suddenly in turmoil, but he kept his cool, showing no emotion. He just took a few more greedy glances at her back.

Maggie, along with Isabella, parked the car and walked towards the mall. After a few steps, Maggie suddenly felt someone watching her. As if by instinct, she turned around abruptly, her eyes scanning the crowd and landing on a black car on the road.

Seeing Fiorello's car, Maggie almost burst into tears. She instinctively took a step forward. She knew he was in the car, watching her.

The car window blocked Maggie's view, but she just knew Fiorello was inside. He had to be.

The light turned green, and Brian started the car. As the car drove away, Maggie's gaze followed it until it disappeared into the traffic.

"Maggie, let's go. What are you looking at?" Isabella asked, puzzled.

Maggie withdrew her gaze, suppressing the pain in her heart, and said, "Nothing, let's go."

From now on, he and she were strangers.

She thought that in a city as big as Cyberland, they wouldn't meet again, but fate had other plans.

At Sunset Hills, Fiorello walked in and went upstairs, with Brian waiting downstairs.

Having followed Fiorello for so many years, Brian somewhat understood why Fiorello had come back here.

This was Fiorello and Maggie's home, their real home. When renovating the house, Fiorello had built a playground for Adalia. After Maggie got pregnant, Fiorello had transformed a room into a nursery, buying many clothes, toys, strollers, and cribs for the unborn baby.

Unfortunately, none of these would be used.

Fiorello walked into the nursery, memories of setting it up with Maggie flooding his mind. They had dreamed about the baby's birth and thought of many names.

Fiorello's hand caressed the little rocking horse he had bought for the baby. His eyes reddened, the pain of losing the baby an indelible mark on his heart.

This house was meant to be a home for Maggie and their kids.

Everywhere in the house bore traces of Maggie, and the joyful sounds of Adalia.

All of Maggie's belongings had been neatly packed away, as if she had never existed. The large house was silent, cold, and devoid of warmth.

Fiorello lay on the bed they had once shared, his mind filled with images of Maggie nestled in his arms, the warmth of those moments gradually moistening his eyes.

A divorce certificate and a promise had turned them into strangers in this vast city.

In the future, she would only see news about him.

Winter passed, and spring came, Fiorello's wounds had not fully healed, but he resolutely returned to the company. The returning Fiorello was more ruthless than ever, pooling all the company's resources to deal with the Holmes Group.

Kevin was busy dreaming about Jenny marrying into the Flores family and preparing for Jenny and Gregory's wedding with Joseph. He let his guard down. By the time he realized, several of the company's projects had stalled due to broken funding chains. He couldn't get loans from any major banks and was being pressed to repay existing loans.

A slight misstep, and the Holmes Group could face bankruptcy. Only then did Kevin panic.
