Chapter 590 Olivia and Arya Fall Out
Arya has been very temperamental lately.
In the past, Arya would still consider sisterly bonds, but now she doesn't care anymore.
Olivia said, "I was just saying, why are you getting so upset? If you ask me, it's actually a good thing that she got lost. Adalia is an illegitimate child anyway. Maggie can have another one with Fiorello. Keeping an illegitimate child only invites criticism."
"Olivia, what nonsense are you spouting?" Arya immediately got angry. "You should leave. I don't want to argue with you. Whether Maggie has more children is her business. Don't meddle in it, and don't come around so often."
Arya directly told her to leave.
Olivia felt awkward and said, "Arya, now that you're living the good life, you look down on me, don't you? You're kicking me out. I came here with good intentions to advise you, and now I've upset you. Why did the child go missing in the first place? It's because Maggie is too flamboyant, which made people jealous, and that's why the child got lost."
"Olivia, Adalia calls you 'Aunt,' and listen to what you're saying. You've never liked Adalia, I know that. You've called her a wild child behind her back and said that Maggie would abandon her once she had a little brother. Last time, you even pulled Adalia's hair. As an elder, what are you thinking about treating Adalia like that?"
Arya was very angry and let all the pent-up conflicts burst out.
Olivia argued, "But I'm not wrong. Adalia is so big now and doesn't even know who her biological father is. The Flores family is wealthy and not stupid; why should they help raise someone else's child? I think Maggie is being a bit too much. Fiorello marrying her is her luck, and she brings a child into the marriage. Isn't that embarrassing for the Flores family?"
Olivia was well aware of Adalia's status, but she wanted to disgust Arya.
Arya was furious. "Olivia, is this how you see Maggie?"
Olivia was about to speak when she saw Eleanor coming. She quickly walked over to Eleanor and greeted her with a smile, "Eleanor, you're here. That outfit looks great on you, really complements your complexion."
In front of Eleanor, Olivia instinctively tried to please her, acting inferior.
Eleanor had heard Olivia's words earlier. She saw through Olivia's true nature—hypocritical, vain, and extremely jealous.
Why did Olivia speak ill of Maggie and Arya? Wasn't it out of jealousy?
Eleanor corrected her expressionlessly, "Olivia, we're not in-laws, and besides, Maggie bringing Adalia into the Flores family and giving us a child makes me very happy. I won't tolerate anyone speaking ill of it."
Olivia's face turned ugly, and she could barely hold it together. She forced a laugh, "Eleanor, I was just saying."
"You can eat whatever you want, but you can't say whatever you want," Eleanor said firmly. "Adalia now bears the Flores name, which makes her a member of our family. We will definitely find her. Olivia, you should leave."
With such a clear dismissal, Olivia had no face to stay.
Olivia left Sunset Hills in disgrace. As she reached the door, she spat on the threshold and muttered, "What's so great about having some money? Looking down on people, thinking you're superior just because you're rich. You deserve to lose your child. The kid is probably dead by now. Let's see what you find."
Olivia cursed as she left.
Confirming that the Flores family and the police had no leads, Olivia felt at ease.
Actually, Olivia was also puzzled. Where exactly had Isabella hidden the child? It's been three days; could the child have starved to death?
Every minute of these three days was torture for Maggie.
Maggie personally searched every corner of the hotel and questioned every staff member.
She couldn't just sit and wait. Even if she couldn't find her, as long as she kept looking, there was a glimmer of hope.
Maggie searched the hotel again, hoping to find a trace, hoping to see Adalia around the next corner, hoping that in the next second, someone would call out "Mom" and run into her arms.
At that moment, Maggie really did hear a voice: "Mom."
