Chapter 692 A Grown Daughter Avoids Her Father
"The prejudice in people's hearts is like a mountain, very hard to overcome."
Before Eleanor had her grandchildren, she could still focus on Adalia, but now it's definitely different.
Eleanor and Melissa strolled around the backyard, chatting and laughing as they returned to the house.
Arya happened to see this scene when she came downstairs to get something.
Maggie had previously warned Arya that Melissa was not simple, and now seeing Melissa getting so close to Eleanor, Arya felt a bit worried.
Then she thought that Melissa rarely came to Cyberland, so she didn't think much of it.
"Arya," Melissa greeted Arya with a smile, "Is Maggie resting?"
Arya said, "Yes, she just went back to her room to rest. There are a lot of things to do for the baby's newborn party tomorrow, so she needs to rest early and recharge."
"Since Maggie just had a baby, she indeed needs more rest." Melissa then looked at Eleanor, "Eleanor, I'll go back to my room to rest too. See you tomorrow."
"Alright, rest early. If you need anything, just let me know." Eleanor was very concerned and afraid of neglecting Melissa.
"Thank you, Auntie." Melissa politely thanked her and went upstairs.
After Melissa left, Eleanor asked Arya, "Where's Adalia? Is she in Fiorello's room?"
Arya smiled and spoke for Adalia, "Adalia likes her younger siblings. The three kids are lively together. They are close siblings, and they get along well. I originally wanted Adalia to sleep with me, but Fiorello said to let Adalia stay in their room."
Eleanor scolded, "Fiorello and the others are just spoiling Adalia. She's already seven years old and still sleeping with adults. What does that look like? They are just indulging her."
Arya explained, "There are two beds in the room."
"A girl should avoid her father. Fiorello is not Adalia's biological father, so she should avoid him even more," Eleanor said. "Arya, don't you think so?"
Arya looked embarrassed, forced a smile, and said, "You're right, she should avoid him."
Adalia didn't often sleep with Fiorello and Maggie. It was just that after the younger siblings were born, the kids were happy and wanted to be together more. Adalia had her room and usually slept there.
Eleanor said, "I'll talk to Fiorello tomorrow. It's late today. Arya, you should rest early too."
Eleanor didn't realize how uncomfortable her words made Arya. Arya didn't know how to respond and could only keep smiling.
After returning to her room, Arya's smile faded, and she became very worried about Adalia's future.
Eleanor's words, "Fiorello is not Adalia's biological father," made Arya realize that Eleanor could no longer accept Adalia in her heart.
The next day.
Katie and Nate's newborn party was held at the Cyberland Bayside Hotel. The guests were all there to congratulate the Flores family and bring gifts for the two babies.
Many people envied these two children.
Some things you have at birth, and if you don't have them at birth, you probably won't have them for the rest of your life.
The newborn party invited people from the inner circle, as well as friends and family. It wasn't as grand as their wedding, but it was still very luxurious.
It was clear how much the Flores family valued and rejoiced over these two children.
Maggie chose a red dress for Katie and a red outfit for Nate.
Even Adalia was wearing a red dress today, a custom-made dress from Fiorello, worth several million dollars.
Since Adalia lost her ability to speak, she didn't like attending parties. This time, she was willing to come because it was her younger siblings' newborn party.
Wearing the red dress, Adalia exuded a noble aura, with a touch of coolness.
Dulce couldn't help but praise, "She's only seven, and Adalia is already growing into a beautiful young lady. Imagine what she'll be like at seventeen or eighteen."
Maggie laughed and said, "It's not as exaggerated as you say. Girls change a lot as they grow up. Who knows what she'll look like when she grows up?"
"With your genes, she definitely won't be bad," Dulce said. "By the way, where are Katie and Nate? I've been here for a while and haven't seen them."
Eleanor had already taken the two babies to show off, and even Maggie might not be able to see them.
Fiorello also had social obligations. With so many guests, he needed to entertain them. Adalia was being looked after by Celine, so Maggie had some free time.
Maggie said, "Their grandmother took them. What would you like to drink? I'll get it for you."
Dulce laughed, "It has to be red wine."
Maggie was about to signal a waiter to bring some wine when she spotted a familiar face and said to Dulce, "Francis is here."
