Chapter 147 Threatening Fiorello

Fiorello's reaction was precisely as Samwise had anticipated. A cunning smirk played on Samwise's lips as he addressed the man before him. "Mr. Flores," he began, "I believe it would be in our best interest to discuss Maggie's secrets privately. I am prepared to reveal all."Fiorello's brow furrowed in response, and he issued a cold command. "William, escort this man to the meeting room." With that, he led the remaining executives into the building. From his wheelchair, Samwise watched Fiorello, his gaze icy and authoritative. Fiorello's demeanor remained unaffected by his words, causing a ripple of unease to course through Samwise. Fiorello's emotions were an enigma, a puzzle that Samwise found increasingly difficult to decipher. An ordinary man, upon hearing of his wife's premarital pregnancy, would undoubtedly be consumed by rage and leave no stone unturned in his quest for the truth. Yet Fiorello, apart from a fleeting moment of surprise, displayed no reaction. The executives trailing behind Fiorello were all titans of industry, each commanding significant power in their respective fields.
A pang of envy and jealousy gnawed at Samwise. Fiorello held the wealth and influence that any man would covet, rendering him an untouchable figure."Mr. Gamgee, please follow me," William instructed, his expression neutral.

Samwise had hoped that the news William delivered would be a game-changer, but it seemed to have fallen flat. A knot of apprehension twisted in his chest as he trailed behind William to the meeting room.Upon their arrival, William left Samwise in the meeting room under the watchful eye of a secretary named Steven Brown
In the boardroom of Visionary Futures Group, Fiorello sat expressionless, attentively listening to the reports of dozens of senior staff members. The meeting spanned two hours, and Fiorello showed no urgency to meet with Samwise. Once the meeting concluded, Fiorello retreated to his office and inquired in a frosty tone, "Where is Samwise?"William promptly pulled up the surveillance footage from the meeting room and presented it to Fiorello. "Samwise is growing restless," he noted. The footage showed Samwise shifting uncomfortably in his seat multiple times within a minute.Samwise indeed was growing impatient. He questioned Steven about Fiorello's arrival, only to be met with a vague response. "Mr. Flores is still in a meeting," Steven replied, deflecting Samwise's inquiries.Fiorello chuckled, "William, I asked you to keep an eye on Samwise. What has he been up to?""Samwise has been at the hospital the whole time, not going anywhere," William reported. "Creditors caused a scene at the hospital, but Samwise managed to convince them to leave. His methods, however, remain a mystery."Fiorello's brow furrowed slightly, his eyes narrowing. "Investigate Samwise's activities. I want results within an hour, and no one is going to push me around."

"Yes, Sir," William, having served Fiorello for years, sensed his anger and promptly set out to fulfill his task. Meanwhile, Fiorello continued to keep Samwise waiting, his gaze cold and distant as he watched the surveillance footage. From morning until after four in the afternoon, Samwise had yet to see Fiorello. His patience was wearing thin, and he was on the verge of leaving when Steven intervened. "Mr. Gamgee, you can't leave," he said. "Please wait, Mr. Flores will be here shortly."Frustration seeped into Samwise's chuckle. "I've waited a full eight hours. When exactly is Mr. Flores planning to show up?""Mr. Flores is occupied. He will see you as soon as he is available," Steven replied. With a hint of emotion in his voice, Samwise retorted, "Then please tell Mr. Flores that he has one day to find time to meet me, otherwise...""Otherwise what?" A chilling voice echoed from the doorway of the meeting room.It was Fiorello.Samwise, once assertive, visibly wilted under Fiorello's imposing presence. "Mr. Flores, seems like you're really busy. It's not easy to secure a meeting with you," Samwise taunted. "It seems you aren't interested in Maggie's secrets. Perhaps I should share them with someone who is. I'm sure your father would be very interested in this matter."
