Chapter 569 You and Maggie have a great relationship

Jenny felt a surge of insulted anger and, in a fit of rage, knocked over the food Ivan had brought.

"This kind of food, I won't eat it."

Ivan didn't pamper her either; he only brought food once a day, letting Jenny experience hunger.

Jenny was very hungry, but no matter how much she shouted in the cellar, Ivan couldn't hear her.

After letting Jenny go hungry for a day, Ivan went to deliver food the next day and found that Jenny had eaten the food she had knocked over on the floor.

Ivan sneered, "With intelligence like yours, it's already God's mercy that you've survived this long."

Jenny was so angry she wanted to throw another tantrum, but when she saw Ivan's cold eyes, she swallowed her words.

Suppressing her anger, Jenny asked, "How long are you going to keep me locked up? How is this different from being in prison?"

"You're pregnant now; you can't do anything," Ivan said, staring at her expressionlessly. "Jenny, once you have the baby, I'll naturally let you go, and you can do whatever you want."

Jenny frowned, "Are you a human trafficker? Do you want to sell my baby?"

Ivan replied, "I rescued you from the police just for the baby in your belly? Jenny, with intelligence like yours, you still dream of becoming the mistress of the Flores family? That's wishful thinking."

Jenny was furious, "Then what exactly do you want?"

"You'll find out in due time."

Ivan also didn't understand why Kyle wanted him to save such a foolish woman.

Having been taught a lesson once, Jenny didn't dare to knock over the food again.

In the days that followed, she stayed relatively obedient in the wine cellar.

Ivan threw her a stack of books, telling her to read them when she had nothing to do, as they would be useful when she left.

Jenny escaped, and Francis, the officer in charge of the case, was busy every day, investigating and searching for her.

This time, Dulce couldn't be of much help in finding her. She wasn't a real police dog who could sniff out Jenny's scent and find her.

After learning that Jenny had escaped, Dulce went to the police station to find Francis when the store wasn't busy.

"Francis, have you found any clues about Jenny?"

"What are you doing here?" Francis was discussing the case with his colleagues.

Seeing Dulce, his colleagues teased, "Francis, we won't disturb you then; we'll go take care of other things."

As they left, one of the colleagues joked with Dulce, "Miss Quixote, you should come by more often. Francis has been really upset these past few days."

"Monkey," Francis pretended to be angry and stopped his colleague, whose nickname was Monkey.

As the colleagues gradually left, Dulce went in, "Francis, are you in a bad mood? Because of Jenny?"

"There are no clues right now; it's like she disappeared," Francis said, hands on his hips, looking troubled. "Fiorello also sent people to look, but there are no leads."

"Don't worry, take it slow," Dulce said. "Isn't Jenny about to give birth? When she has the baby, she'll have to go to a hospital. Maybe it would be easier to find her if we informed all the major hospitals in advance?"

Francis looked at Dulce, "Do you think a fugitive would go to a hospital to give birth?"

Dulce replied, "No."

As Francis tidied up the documents on the table, he asked, "Are you concerned about Jenny's case because of Maggie?"

"Jenny is very dangerous. As long as she's not caught, there's no peace," Dulce said. "She could kill Kimberly; there's nothing she wouldn't do. I want Maggie's wedding to go smoothly."

"You and Maggie are very close."

"Of course," Dulce smiled. "Maggie is the most important person to me besides my parents. Don't be fooled by her gentle appearance; when things get tough, she's tougher than anyone. Once, a few girls in our class bullied me, and Maggie directly smashed a brick on one of their heads. She almost got expelled that time. We've been through thick and thin together."
