Chapter 766 A Rare Good Man
Ivan held Maggie and went to the roadside, hailed a cab, and Lucy got in as well.
Ivan wanted Lucy to get out of the car, but when he heard Lucy call out Maggie's name, he didn't say anything more and told the driver, "To the hospital."
Maggie was now tormented by the drugs, feeling so hot that she wanted to take off her clothes, even though a sliver of rationality told her she shouldn't. However, her actions were beyond her brain's control.
Lucy put Maggie's clothes back on and said, "Maggie, we'll be at the hospital soon. Hang in there."
Ivan didn't say a word from start to finish, but his worry was written all over his face.
After arriving at the hospital, Ivan called a doctor to treat Maggie and had Lucy stay in the ward while he went out into the hallway.
The effects of the drug in Maggie's system didn't completely dissipate until half an hour later. If they hadn't come to the hospital, her blood vessels might have burst, leading to her death.
The drug administered this time was extremely potent.
When Maggie regained consciousness, she was drenched in sweat, as if she had been soaked in a pool.
Lucy poured her some water. "Maggie, have some water."
Maggie propped herself up, feeling weak all over, "Thank you."
After drinking the water, Maggie felt a bit more settled.
Lucy asked, "Feeling better?"
"Yes," Maggie replied weakly, not in the mood to talk much.
Lucy said indignantly, "Harold is such a bastard. Luckily, someone helped this time, or it would have been disastrous."
Only then did Maggie remember that it was Ivan who had come to the private room to rescue her.
Maggie asked, "Where is he?"
Lucy realized what she meant and said, "You mean that man? He's outside. He's a gentleman. If it were someone else, they wouldn't have taken you to the hospital."
Maggie was also shocked that Ivan had brought her to the hospital.
What was even more puzzling was why he was at Happy Pub.
Lucy continued, "Donald is no match for Fiorello. Eight years ago, Maggie and Fiorello were a perfect match. What is Harold? At best, he's just a sleazy guy."
Lucy mentioned this to gain Maggie's favor.
"How do you know about what happened eight years ago?" Maggie was shocked.
She had just remembered, how did Lucy know.
Lucy said, "I saw it with my own eyes. Maggie, don't worry, I won't talk about it. I really envy you for meeting a man like Fiorello. After leaving the club, I never had the luck to meet my Prince Charming."
"You knew all along, so why didn't you say anything earlier?" Maggie was a bit emotional, feeling regretful. She had investigated several times but found nothing.
Lucy knew about what happened back then, and she was right beside her, yet Maggie didn't know.
If Maggie had known the truth back then, she wouldn't have had any regrets with Fiorello, and Adalia wouldn't have suffered so much.
Lucy looked puzzled, "you never asked. Don't worry, I won't talk about such things."
Maggie knew she couldn't blame Lucy. Lucy didn't know that Maggie had forgotten about it.
Maggie rubbed her head and said, "I had an incident years ago and forgot about it. I've been trying to find out who that man was. I was drugged that night, and my memory of it is not very clear."
Lucy suddenly understood, "I happened to pass by and saw you and Fiorello in the private room."
There was no need to say more; it was clear what had happened.
Maggie said, "Could you please call Ivan in? I have something to ask him."
