Chapter 487 He's Awake

Dulce's words made Maggie stop in her tracks.

But she found it hard to believe and shook her head, saying, "Maybe she's scared that if something happens to Fiorello, the Flores family will come after me."

Dulce thought for a bit. "Could be. She hasn't divorced James yet, right? She's in her thirties, second marriage. Lots of folks might be interested, but not many would actually want to marry her. Fiorello was your husband—well, ex-husband now. She probably doesn't like him. It's just weird."

"Yeah," Maggie said, trying to give Isabella an excuse, but she still had her doubts.

She'd thought about it before. When Isabella joked about her giving up on Fiorello, Maggie wondered if Isabella had feelings for him. But later, seeing no interaction between them, she let it go.

Back at the rental, a two-bedroom place, Arya shared a room with Adalia, and Maggie bunked with Dulce. Dulce, exhausted from the day, crashed immediately.

Maggie, on the other hand, couldn't sleep. She worried about Fiorello and only dozed off as dawn broke.

The next morning, voices woke her up.

Mark and Arya were chatting in the living room. Maggie had left the marriage with nothing, and her divorce from Fiorello had caused a big stir. Now, Mark had lost the Flores family's support, and several investors had pulled out, hitting the Jackson Group hard.

Mark asked Arya, "Did Maggie really leave with nothing? Is the divorce final?"

Arya replied, "It's over. The divorce is for the best. We're done with the Flores family. As long as Maggie's okay, I don't care about anything else."

Mark sighed, clearly stressed. "Several of my new projects lost investors as soon as they heard about Maggie's divorce. You might not care, but I'm in trouble."

Arya was unfazed. "That's your problem. Maggie and I are in this mess, and we can't help you. Don't waste your time trying to please us. I just want a peaceful life with Maggie."

"What do you mean by that? Maggie's my daughter too. Her marriage to Fiorello was good for me, but I care about her beyond that," Mark said, worried. "I've been losing sleep over this too. I heard Fiorello woke up, so things aren't as bad as they could be. Maggie's health and mood are what matter now. I plan to take you both back with me. A change of scenery would be good for Maggie."

Mark's words genuinely moved Arya.

Of course, Mark wasn't giving up on Maggie because he saw Fiorello's true feelings for her. As long as there was that affection, there was still a chance to turn things around.

Maggie was still young. Who knew, in a few years, after this incident was forgotten, Fiorello and Maggie might reconcile?

Even if they didn't remarry, as long as Fiorello had feelings for Maggie, he would be an invisible support for Mark.

Mark had already offended Ashley's family, so he had to hold on tightly to this side.

Hearing that Fiorello had woken up, Maggie came out of the room, emotionally asking, "Is Fiorello really awake?"

"Maggie, you're up," Mark said, standing up. "I heard that Fiorello woke up this morning."

"He's finally awake," Maggie said, crying tears of joy. She was very emotional.

Now that he was awake, she had no more worries.

Mark said, "Maggie, I was just telling your mom that you should come back with me. You're the heiress to the Jackson Group, and I've always been waiting for you to come back."
