Chapter 192 Suspicion of Car Accident
Maggie woke up.
She delicately stroked Fiorello's face, gently wiping the tears from the corners of Fiorello's eyes.
Fiorello hugged Maggie excitedly, burying his head in Maggie's arms, his voice hoarse. "My dear."
Maggie stroked Fiorello's hair, her eyes also moistened. The memories of the car accident rushed into Maggie's mind, and she really thought she was going to die.
In those few seconds when the car overturned, Maggie was so reluctant.
She was reluctant to die.
If it hadn't been for Fiorello rushing over that night, Maggie would have missed the best chance for rescue. Perhaps she would have died in that car accident.
"Maggie, thank you for waking up," Fiorello held Maggie tightly. He couldn't imagine what life would be like without Maggie.
It was also this car accident that made Fiorello realize how important Maggie was to him.
"If the Grim Reaper dares to take you away, I will find him and bring you back. Without my permission, no one can take you away."
When Maggie was on the verge of death in the emergency room, Fiorello had this impulse: even if he lost everything, he wanted to save Maggie's life.
Surviving a disaster, the car accident, now as Maggie recalls it, still leaves her with lingering fear.
Crying with joy, Maggie held Fiorello's face, her lips trembling. "During the car accident, I was afraid of death. I prayed to God, give me another chance. I want to spend my whole life with you and have many children with you."
Fiorello's voice hoarse. "Alright."
Fiorello couldn't bear to tell Maggie that they might never have children in this lifetime.
He also didn't plan to tell her about this.
He didn't want to see Maggie in despair.
For now, he decided to keep this matter from Maggie.
The news of Maggie's awakening was only conveyed to Arya and Eleanor the next morning by Fiorello.
Arya and Eleanor rushed to the hospital excitedly. Arya held Maggie and cried sadly for a while.
"Maggie, you finally woke up. You've been in a coma for a month. I prayed every day, hoping for your early awakening," Arya clasped her hands together in prayer. "Thank God you woke up."
Eleanor also joyfully clasped her hands in prayer. "Maggie woke up. This is a happy thing. Maggie, do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"
Maggie gently touched her waist and said, "Except for my waist, I don't feel uncomfortable anywhere."
The waist was where Maggie was most seriously injured.
Fiorello remembered Doctor Taylor's words and looked at Maggie's waist with aching eyes.
Eleanor smiled and said, "The injuries are severe. Take good care of yourself. You're young and will recover soon."
Arya also said, "Maggie, during the month you were in a coma, Fiorello stayed at the hospital every day, taking care of you. The most tired one was Fiorello. You're lucky to have Fiorello as your husband."
Maggie glanced at Fiorello and smiled without saying a word. She felt that in this life, her luck was partly used to meet Fiorello and partly to escape death in this car accident.
Maggie thought, 'Having a Fiorello in this life, I had no regrets.'
The news of Maggie's awakening spread, and Dulce, Emily, and Angela all came to the hospital to visit.
Everyone was overjoyed, thinking that Maggie might die this time, but to their surprise, Maggie woke up.
Where there was joy, there was also sorrow.
The news of Maggie's awakening was not good news for Jenny.
A hint of envy flashed in Jenny's eyes. She pondered, 'Maggie was indeed lucky. She didn't die. She was in a coma for a month, and the doctors had little hope of her waking up, but she did.'
Jenny had to resort to the second plan.
After Maggie woke up, the police also came to take Maggie's statement.
It was then that Maggie learned that the car had indeed been tampered with; the brake line had been deliberately damaged.
And the suspect was Selena.
Maggie described the car accident situation and informed the police about seeing a familiar figure in the parking lot.
Maggie said, "But I'm not sure if the person I saw in the parking lot was Selena. What does Selena say?"
Fiorello said, "Selena admitted to going to the parking lot but denied tampering with the brakes."
The police also said, "We have interrogated Selena multiple times, and she still denies tampering with the brakes. So today, we are here to ask Mrs. Flores to think carefully. Are there any other suspicious individuals? The car had a malfunction when going downhill. How did it feel when you pressed the brakes going uphill? What was the car's reaction?"
