Chapter 178 Fireworks and Kisses
Maggie waited at the entrance of the neighborhood for over half an hour, and Fiorello arrived in his car.
Seeing the familiar car, Maggie happily walked over and got into it.
"Where are we going? Dulce and I have already had dinner. Have you eaten?"
"I had a little." Fiorello leaned over to fasten Maggie's seatbelt.
His unique scent enveloped Maggie, creating an intimate atmosphere that was almost tangible. They were so close that Maggie could feel her heart pounding uncontrollably.
There was always a faint scent of jasmine on him, which was particularly pleasant.
"You'll find out when we get there."
He fastened her seatbelt, and just before sitting back, he unexpectedly planted a quick kiss on her lips.
Maggie widened her eyes in surprise, and he smiled. "Buckle up."
She blushed, a shy and girlish expression on her face, muttering, "You rogue."
He held her hand with one hand, drove with the other, and headed the car towards the outskirts.
An hour later, he brought her to the highest mountain on the outskirts. Standing on the observation deck there, one could overlook half of Cyberland.
The wind was strong at the mountaintop, and the temperature dropped even lower at night.
Fiorello was prepared and handed Maggie a thick coat to put on, then led her towards the observation deck.
"Are you taking me to see the night view?" Maggie looked around, seeing no one around. "I heard that there are often mountain climbers at the mountaintop at night; why is no one here tonight?"
"It means it's a good day. No one will disturb us." Fiorello led her to the railing of the observation deck, looking into the distance. He teased, "Honey, take a good look. This is the empire I've conquered for you."
At his words, Maggie chuckled and looked in the other direction.
He added, "I haven't conquered that side yet; let's focus on this side first."
"Fiorello, how come I never noticed you are actually so humorous ?" Maggie laughed and sighed.
The night view there was truly beautiful and breathtaking.
The neon lights were dazzling. Looking from where they were, they could see the bustling city.
"I've been so busy before, never really took the time to stop and appreciate this city." Maggie smiled. "It's truly beautiful and charming."
Fiorello embraced Maggie from behind, accompanying her to admire the bustling world. "But to me, you are far more beautiful than this city."
She turned in his arms, leaning against the railing behind her while wrapping her arms around his waist. She then looked into his deep eyes.
"Fiorello, thank you for bringing me so much happiness."
Maggie felt an unprecedented happiness; every cell of hers seemed to be immersed in honey.
He smiled. "It's my honor."
The cold wind lifted her hair and brushed over her delicate face. With the beautiful scenery in the distance and the beautiful woman in his arms, he felt a stir in his heart. He leaned down to kiss her lips.
The lingering and gentle kiss was the most beautiful scenery.
She held onto his clothes and kissed back as a response. In addition to that, she teased him by running her hands over his body.
"You have captivated me."
He wished he could devour her on the spot.
She laughed in his arms. "Well, I learned those from you."
Fiorello looked at her with indulgence. Having Maggie in his life gave him an overwhelming sense of satisfaction.
No matter what her past was, she was the one he would protect in this life.
Just then, there was a loud noise in the sky, and fireworks bloomed in the night sky, dazzling and beautiful.
Maggie was pleasantly surprised and turned to look. "It is so beautiful. Who arranged for the fireworks show? Is it you?"
Fiorello lied with a straight face, "No, all my money is with you; I don't have the funds for such romance; it must be someone else."
"It's better not to be you. Otherwise, it would be a waste of money." Maggie smiled. "But it's really beautiful."
A free fireworks show appeared to be more enjoyable to Maggie.
Fiorello smiled knowingly. Indeed, he did not pay for these fireworks but for Holden.
Halfway up the mountain, Holden and William were lighting one box of fireworks after another, with about a hundred boxes piled on the ground, enough for a show of about an hour.
They had been here early, and the mountain was full of mosquitoes at night, biting them miserably.
As Holden ignited the fireworks, he complained, "I'm trying to please Maggie for Fiorello, and I have to foot the bill. There's no raise in pocket money for me, and I end up paying out of my own pocket. Alas!"
William chuckled. "Holden, don't let Fiorello hear that, or not only will you be footing the bill, but your pocket money will also be deducted."
Holden found a spot to sit down and watch the fireworks. "I paid for it, so I want to enjoy it, too. William, come over and watch with me."
William said, "Isn't it a bit strange for two men to watch fireworks together?"
Holden was speechless.
