Chapter 688 Melissa is Here

Maggie was immersed in the joy of her adorable baby. Hearing Eleanor's reminder, she didn't think much of it and smiled while looking at her nails.

Her nails were well-manicured. She smiled and said, "Mom, it's fine. I'm very gentle, and my nails are trimmed, so they won't hurt."

Nate was lazy and didn't respond to Maggie; he just kept sleeping.

The siblings were born a few minutes apart. Nate ate and slept well, growing a bit stronger.

Nate slept during the day and stayed awake at night, so the nannies had to stay up with him.

Fiorello held Adalia's hand to play with Katie. Katie splashed the water with her little hands, enjoying swimming very much.

"Katie, swim over to Daddy," Fiorello said, looking at his two little ones with joy.

Hearing her dad's voice, Katie kicked her little legs and swam towards Fiorello, splashing water with her hands.

Eleanor laughed, "Katie loves swimming. She has to swim every day, or she'll cry."

Maggie asked, "Mom, how long has she been swimming?"

"About ten minutes, that's enough. We can bring her out now," Eleanor signaled the nannies to bring the babies out.

The nannies were professionally trained and very skilled at taking care of the children.

Nate woke up as soon as he was brought out and changed into clothes.

Maggie couldn't help but hold him and kiss his cheek, "Woke up? Look at me, do you still recognize me?"

Nate rolled his eyes, seemingly recognizing his mom, and reached out to grab her hair.

At such a young age, most of the time, the babies just lay there playing by themselves while the adults talked to them and played with them.

Fiorello held Katie and wanted Adalia to hold her, but Adalia smiled and shook her head. With Eleanor around, she didn't want to touch her younger siblings.

Fiorello glanced at Eleanor, understanding the situation, and said to Maggie, "Maggie, take the babies back to the room."

"Sure, I'll take our son. You take our daughter. Adalia, come along too," Maggie happily carried her son back to the bedroom.

This time, Eleanor couldn't intervene even if she wanted to.

The family of five returned to the master bedroom. Maggie and Fiorello placed the babies on the big bed. The two babies occasionally stuck out their tongues and sucked on their hands.

Without Eleanor around, Adalia felt less restrained and could join her younger siblings on the bed. In moments of joy, she would kiss them, and they would interact with her, grabbing her hand and pulling her hair.

Adalia was a good sister, very gentle. Even when her hair was grabbed, she wouldn't forcefully pull her siblings' hands away but would gently let them play with it.

Seeing the three children getting along so harmoniously on the bed, Maggie felt an indescribable happiness and contentment. This was how a family should be, all together.

Adalia wasn't Fiorello's biological daughter. Watching the three children together, Maggie couldn't help but wish that Adalia was also Fiorello's daughter.

Over time, the Flores family elders would inevitably become unfair. Adalia, not being their biological grandchild, would inevitably face some grievances.

Maggie thought about finding Olivia to ask about Adalia's biological father but was also afraid that finding him would cause more trouble.

Maggie stayed in the room with the children. After they fell asleep, she went out for a walk and learned from Arya that Eleanor was planning to stay long-term.

For some reason, Maggie felt a bit resistant to this news, fearing potential conflicts.

Maggie frowned, "I didn't know about this before. Fiorello never mentioned it to me."

Arya said, "I thought you knew. By the way, the newborn party is next Monday, right? Your dad said he'd come over this weekend to see the kids."

"Sure," Maggie said. "Let him come. Has Dad been up to anything else lately?"

"I haven't heard of him trying to take over the company again. Whether he or his children run it, it's all the same family."

An outsider could understand this, but Mark couldn't.

How could he understand?

His daughter wanted to poison him.

If she weren't his biological daughter, Mark would have sent her to the police.

That weekend, Mark arrived in Cyberland in the afternoon. Maggie thought he was coming alone, but when he arrived, she realized Melissa had come along too.

Melissa came well-prepared, bringing gifts for the three children. Smiling, she congratulated, "Maggie, congratulations. These are some small gifts I prepared for the children. Please accept them."

Though she called them small gifts, they were quite generous.

Melissa gave two pairs of gold bracelets.
