Chapter 480 Divorce Agreement
Fiorello's hospitalization news couldn't stay under wraps.
When Jenny found out, her face went pale, and she rushed to the hospital.
On her way there, she was fuming. She had originally planned to frame Fiorello for having a baby with her,, but now, with him in the hospital, if something happened to him, her plan would go up in smoke.
Jenny had once wanted to ruin Fiorello, but now with a baby on the way, she still dreamed of becoming his wife.
She also knew about Fiorello's promise to Joseph to divorce Maggie. That got her excited; all her scheming was finally paying off.
Gregory was in shock when he heard about the Flores family drama. It was wild that Fiorello had stabbed himself over a woman.
Gregory had never really understood Maggie, but now he was intrigued. What kind of magic did this woman have to make Fiorello risk his life?
Fiorello's actions today earned Gregory's respect. A guy willing to go that far was rare.
Throughout history, balancing emotions and obligations had always been tough. Fiorello chose to sacrifice himself to fulfill his duties and show his love for Maggie.
Fiorello's stab was brutal; he didn't hold back. If the knife had gone just a bit deeper, his heart would've been done for, and there'd be no saving him.
That night, the Flores family was camped outside the emergency room. Fiorello got several critical condition notices. Eleanor was on the verge of breaking down.
Holden and Joseph stayed silent, keeping watch. The hallway was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
This kind of silence was the scariest.
Isabella stayed the whole time too. When Jenny arrived, she didn't dare show her face. She just stood in the corner, waiting for updates.
Meanwhile, Maggie was having nightmares at the police station. She couldn't wake up, and her chest hurt like crazy, making her clutch it and roll around in pain.
Maggie was drenched in sweat, constantly calling out Fiorello's name.
Fiorello was in the emergency room all night, and Maggie had nightmares all night. At dawn, she woke up from the nightmare, her heart racing, and she was soaked in cold sweat.
Her clothes were drenched.
"Fiorello." Thinking about the dream, Maggie was panicked. She got out of bed and stumbled to the window, shouting, "Is anyone there? I want Fiorello. Is anyone there?"
Last night, she dreamed of Fiorello standing in front of her, covered in blood, saying goodbye.
When her kid had an accident, she had a similar dream.
She felt like last night's dream was a bad omen.
Maggie shouted for a long time before she heard footsteps. Soon, the iron door opened, and Holden walked in.
The moment she saw Holden, Maggie's heart sank. For some reason, tears started falling, and she asked in a hoarse voice, "Did something happen to Fiorello?"
Holden's eyes were red; he hadn't slept all night. He didn't have his usual playful smile, and his face showed deep sadness.
Maggie got even more panicked, her voice trembling. "Holden, say something. Did something happen to Fiorello? I had a dream last night that something happened to him. Tell me, is it true?"
Holden stared at Maggie for a while, then looked away and placed a document on the table. "Ms. Miller, this is the divorce agreement. Please sign it."
The change in how he addressed her and the divorce agreement made Maggie start to understand. "Is this Fiorello's idea? Where is Fiorello? I want to see him. What happened to him?"
Holden sat down, opened the divorce agreement, and read the terms, "The apartment at Cityhomes West, Fiorello left it to you, and he set aside 1.5 billion dollars for you from his private account. This money should be enough for you to live on. If there are no other conditions, Ms. Miller, please sign it. From now on, you and Fiorello will have no ties. Soon, you will be able to leave here."
Maggie stared at Holden, trembling all over. "Is this really all his idea?"
"Yes," Holden said. "This is the price Fiorello paid to save you. He was in the hospital all night and got out of danger an hour ago. Once you sign the papers, the Flores family will have nothing to do with you anymore, and they won't press charges against you. Everything is as Fiorello wished. Ms. Miller, I hope you won't waste the chance Fiorello risked his life to give you."
