Chapter 680 The Display of Possessiveness
Maggie was very happy to see Adalia coming. Adalia had drawn a picture for Maggie and pointed to the characters in the picture, gesturing, "This is mom, dad, this is me, and my little brother and sister. I drew it."
"Wow, that's amazing," Maggie praised with a smile. "Adalia, your drawing skills have improved a lot. You made mom look so beautiful."
Adalia proudly said, "Mom is the most beautiful mom in the world."
Fiorello laughed and said, "Adalia, what about me?"
Adalia replied, "Dad is the most handsome."
Adalia was not biased; she loved both her mom and dad.
Arya asked with concern, "Maggie, how is your recovery going?"
"Very well. Look, I've even gained weight, and my complexion has improved," Maggie said, pinching her face and waist to prove she had indeed gained weight.
Fiorello chimed in, "A little weight is good."
Maggie instantly understood and glared at Fiorello. How dare he tease her in front of the elders?
Men do like women with a bit more weight; it feels better to hold.
Maggie had also noticed recently that Fiorello liked to cuddle and squeeze her at night.
After giving birth, Maggie's chest had grown a size larger.
Seeing Maggie's good recovery, Arya felt relieved and said with a smile, "Your dad called. He said once you're fully recovered, he'll come to see you at the baby's newborn party."
Arya's words reminded Maggie that she hadn't sent an invitation to Mark for the baby's newborn party.
She looked at Fiorello, "Did your mom send an invitation to my dad?"
Eleanor was in charge of organizing the baby's newborn party.
Fiorello nodded, "Yes, she did. I saw the invitations for the newborn party. Such a big event, of course, Mark would be invited."
Eleanor was thorough in these matters. Although Maggie hadn't formally acknowledged Mark as her father, it was a fact that he was her father, so he had to be invited.
As they were chatting, Eleanor came in with the baby. Seeing Arya there, she greeted warmly as usual, "Arya, you're here too."
"Just arrived," Arya said, delighted to see the baby. "Let me see the baby."
Knowing Eleanor's concerns, Arya took some disinfectant from the side and cleaned her hands before holding the baby.
Seeing Arya disinfect her hands, Eleanor smiled with satisfaction.
Maggie, seeing Arya being so meticulous before holding the baby, smiled and said, "Mom, you don't need to disinfect. It's not that troublesome."
Maggie didn't know that Adalia had previously been stopped by Eleanor for trying to touch the baby without disinfecting.
Arya said, "It's necessary. The baby is small and has low immunity. We need to be careful."
Arya's words were meant to please Eleanor, going along with her wishes.
Arya knew very well that she had no significant background. Since Maggie married into a wealthy family, she had to follow the family's rules.
Eleanor smiled and said, "I said the same thing before. The baby is small and has low immunity, so we need to disinfect. We can't be careless with the baby."
Hearing this, Maggie understood why Arya had disinfected her hands.
To avoid making things awkward, Maggie didn't say anything and treated it as a small matter.
Arya, holding her granddaughter Katie, was so happy that she didn't think much and said casually, "It's been over half a month, and she's grown so fast. She's so fair and her eyes are beautiful."
Hearing this, Maggie realized that Arya hadn't seen the baby for quite a while.
The baby was at home, and if Arya wanted to see her, she could have the driver bring her over.
Maggie didn't doubt Arya's love for the baby. She must have wanted to see the baby, but there must have been a reason why she didn't.
She remembered what Dulce had reminded her of before and thought that her mother might have something she hadn't told her.
Maggie smiled and deliberately said, "Mom, when I go back in a few days, I'll bring the baby home. You'll be watching her every day and might get tired of it. You won't have any time for yourself with two little grandkids clinging to you."
Arya knew it was a joke and said, "How could I get tired of it? I could watch them every day and never get bored."
Eleanor laughed and said, "I'm here too, Arya. If you have things to do, you go ahead. I'll take care of them."
