Chapter 633 Seizing Power
Gregory had previously provoked Fiorello, and Jenny was nowhere to be found.
Fiorello then turned his attention to Gregory, thinking that since Jenny and Gregory had a son together, they might be in contact. He asked Brian to investigate which women had recently been around Gregory.
Jenny had been missing for so long that she definitely wouldn't appear openly. The best way to avoid the police was to change her appearance and identity.
Brian said, "Yes, Fiorello, I'll continue to follow up on this."
"Good."
Fiorello hung up the phone, and then William called, "Mr. Flores, Kevin is seriously ill."
Upon hearing the news of Kevin's illness, Fiorello's mind stirred, and he said, "Take some people to check on him."
"Yes, Mr. Flores."
From the company to the police station, Fiorello's phone kept ringing.
At the police station.
Maggie sat on a bench in the lobby, waiting. As soon as Fiorello's car arrived, she would see it.
It didn't take long for Fiorello's car to return. Maggie stood up, a smile unconsciously appearing on her lips.
As long as he came back, no matter where or when, as long as she saw him return to her side, she couldn't help but feel joy in her heart.
During her pregnancy, this feeling was most evident. Maggie also realized that she was very dependent on Fiorello. As soon as he went out, she would look forward to his return, his messages, or his calls. As long as he was by her side, no matter what they did, she felt secure and satisfied.
Maggie thought, this is probably what it feels like to love someone—constantly thinking about them and feeling happy because of them.
Fiorello got out of the car and quickly walked towards Maggie. "Why are you wearing so little? It's cold, put on your coat."
As he spoke, Fiorello draped his coat over Maggie and rubbed her hands, which were a bit cold.
Maggie felt warm inside and smiled, "Since I got pregnant, I feel hot and don't feel cold."
At this moment, Francis came out. Fiorello held Maggie's hand, which had become a habit. He looked at Francis and asked, "The comparison results are incorrect?"
If the person Maggie met at the café was really Jenny, both Francis and Maggie wouldn't have reacted this way.
Francis nodded, "It was a mistake, just a misunderstanding."
Fiorello wasn't surprised and said, "Then I'll take Maggie home."
"Alright."
Fiorello didn't take Maggie home for dinner; he had made a reservation at a restaurant and took Maggie out to eat.
Maggie only found out when they arrived at the restaurant.
"Why didn't you tell me earlier that we were eating out? Adalia is still at home; we could have brought her along."
"Today is just for the two of us." Fiorello held her hand and led her to a seat inside the restaurant.
This place specialized in fish, Maggie's favorite. It was an ordinary restaurant, not particularly upscale.
"How did you know I wanted to eat fish?" Maggie looked around the restaurant and said, "It's been a long time since we came to a place like this. I still remember the first time we had dinner at that fancy restaurant. You lied to me, saying you had a membership discount, and then there were all sorts of lies. Fiorello, that's how you tricked me into being with you."
Fiorello smiled, "I was just following my mom's advice. She kept setting me up on dates, and I refused to go. She got angry and said if I was so capable, I should go out and trick someone myself. That day, I happened to meet you, and I felt a sense of déjà vu."
Maggie laughed, "You're using your mom as an excuse again. I'll have to ask her about it later."
Actually, when Maggie first met Fiorello, she also felt a sense of déjà vu.
Fiorello ordered the food and poured Maggie a glass of water, saying, "When Adalia was missing, you were anxious all the time, lost your appetite, and lost a lot of weight. Now that Adalia is back, you can take care of yourself. But you still need to watch your diet. Dylan also said you shouldn't put too much strain on your back. You're carrying twins, which is even more exhausting."
When she was pregnant with one, Maggie's back almost couldn't straighten. The doctor had suggested an early C-section. Now that she was carrying twins, Fiorello was constantly worried. In the later stages, Maggie would be particularly uncomfortable.
As for reducing the number of fetuses, Maggie would definitely not agree. It was a difficult decision, and the couple could only work together to get through it.
"Fortunately, with Dylan around, there shouldn't be any major problems," Maggie said this to reassure Fiorello. Fiorello always took her too seriously, constantly worrying about her. She could imagine how devastated he would be if something happened to her.
Maggie changed the subject, "What did my dad say when he called you?"
Fiorello said, "He wants me to help you take over the Jackson Group and put you in charge of the entire company. Timothy and the others definitely won't agree. Last time, your dad was paralyzed because he was poisoned. I had someone investigate, and now we can identify the culprits. Timothy, Melissa, and Ashley are the main suspects. Your dad is determined to revoke the previous agreement, and I'm worried someone might get desperate."
