Chapter 678 Listen to Fiorello on This
Dulce didn't want to say it, Maggie needed to rest now, but seeing Adalia's cautious look, she couldn't help but speak up.
Maggie had just woken up not long ago and wasn't clear about some things, she hadn't noticed anything wrong earlier.
Maggie smiled and said, "It won't be that exaggerated. I can't be discharged now, but it's reasonable for Eleanor to take the child home. When I'm discharged, I'll bring the child over."
Seeing Maggie say this, Dulce didn't mention Eleanor having someone disinfect the place.
"Maggie, take good care of yourself. I'll head back now and come see you another day."
Maggie wanted to ask Dulce if she hadn't completely let go of Francis, but she didn't ask.
After Dulce left, Fiorello sent Arya and the others back to the hospital.
Maggie was a bit tired and slept for a while. When she woke up again, it was already late at night.
Now Maggie ate four meals a day, getting all the nutrition she needed.
Maggie didn't have much appetite, ate a bit, and then stopped. Four meals a day were enough to keep her from getting hungry.
"You stay with me every day, what about the company?"
"If I leave for a while, the company will go bankrupt, and those thousands of people will be out of work." Fiorello said, "Right now, you're the priority. The company's matters are being handled by the responsible people."
Maggie laughed, "How much does it cost per day here?"
"Twenty thousand dollars a day."
Maggie instantly felt it was expensive, "That's too expensive."
Fiorello smiled and patted Maggie's head, "You're such a penny-pincher, feeling bad about this money. You've suffered so much, you don't feel bad for yourself, but I do."
These words were heartwarming, and Maggie smiled, "I feel bad about the money, you feel bad for me, isn't that just perfect?"
"Maggie, you've suffered following me." Fiorello held Maggie's hand and sincerely said, "Although I have money and look glamorous, you've suffered a lot since being with me. This time you almost lost your life. I wish all the suffering could fall on me."
Fiorello's voice choked up, his eyes reddened, thinking about the danger Maggie faced during childbirth, he was still scared.
Maggie gently said, "You have to give to receive. Now we have Katie and Nate, there's no regret. If we didn't take a chance, even with such a good life, we would have regrets. Adalia is in this situation, who would help her after we're gone?"
"Dylan has been trying to treat Adalia's throat. If her throat gets better, as I said, everything from the Flores family will be left for her." Fiorello reassured Maggie, so she wouldn't worry.
He had said that the three children would be treated equally.
Maggie was very touched, her eyes moist, "Thank you, I know you love Adalia."
"When you're discharged, take good care of yourself. You've suffered a lot this time. For the next year, don't think about working. Just take care of yourself and enjoy life."
Maggie laughed, "You really know me. You know what I'm thinking. I was planning to open a jewelry design shop after a while, but your words have blocked my way."
"The rest of your life is long, you have plenty of time to achieve your dreams. But the recovery in the year after childbirth is crucial and only happens once." Fiorello said dotingly, "Take good care of yourself, and in the future, I'll listen to whatever you say. But for now, you have to listen to me."
With Fiorello's care, Maggie was naturally happy, "Alright, I'll listen to you."
"Sleep a bit more." Fiorello patted Maggie's forehead and got into bed to sleep with her.
He still held her like before, giving each other a sense of security and peace.
In the quiet of the night, Maggie thought of what Dulce said during the day, that Katie and Adalia looked exactly the same when they were little. Their fathers had different genes, no matter how strong her genes were, they wouldn't look so alike.
Maggie had doubts in her heart and was curious about Adalia's biological father. Olivia knew about this, and she really wanted to ask Olivia, but now wasn't the time.
