Chapter 724 Truth or Dare

Fiorello had been on a business trip for a few days, and it seemed he had been busier than before, with noticeably less contact.

Maggie called him, but no one answered.

Maggie had been feeling uneasy these past few days, with a bad premonition.

Fiorello didn't answer the phone, so Maggie assumed he was busy and went to check Adalia's homework.

Dulce left Maggie's place and returned to the beauty salon.

As soon as she arrived at the entrance, the receptionist told her, "Mr. Quixote, a lady is looking for you in the lounge on the second floor."

"A lady?" Dulce was puzzled. "So mysterious, could it be my mom nagging me again?"

The receptionist shook her head. "No."

"Then I'll go take a look." Dulce went upstairs.

In the lounge sat Imogen.

Dulce had never met her and didn't recognize her. She walked in with a polite yet suspicious smile. "Hello, I'm the owner of this beauty salon. May I ask who you are?"

Imogen turned around, her eyes lighting up when she saw Dulce. She quickly stood up and smiled warmly. "You must be Dulce, right? I've seen you on my son's Instagram. I'm Francis's mother, Imogen."

Imogen had gone to the station to get information from Kieran and learned that Dulce owned a beauty salon, so she came to meet her.

Before Dulce arrived, Imogen had already read about the history of the beauty salon and had taken a tour.

She secretly admired Dulce. This was an impressive young woman, running such a large beauty salon on her own, young, beautiful, and capable. She was much better than Wendy.

Anyone would choose Dulce as a daughter-in-law.

Hearing that it was Francis's mother, Dulce was flattered and quickly offered a warm welcome. "Imogen, I'm so sorry to keep you waiting. Your coffee must be cold. Let me get you a fresh cup."

Saying this, Dulce asked the staff to bring Imogen a new cup of coffee and some fruit, specifically instructing, "Bring the freshest imported fruit."

Dulce's enthusiasm made Imogen even more satisfied. Knowing she was Francis's mother and still being warmly welcomed meant Dulce must still like Francis.

Otherwise, if they had broken up, Dulce wouldn't be so welcoming when Imogen came to see her.

With the coffee and fruit served, Dulce warmly said, "Imogen, please sit. Do you often get spa treatments? I can tell your face is well-maintained. Feel free to come to my salon anytime. It's on the house, even if you come every day."

"That's wonderful, just wonderful," Imogen said, beaming. "Dulce, I've been wanting to meet you. Francis mentioned bringing you home to meet his father and me. We've been looking forward to it."

Dulce awkwardly said, "Imogen, Francis and I have broken up."

"I know, Francis told me," Imogen said. "Dulce, I can tell Francis still has feelings for you. He doesn't like Wendy. You like Francis too, right? Don't let her ruin a good relationship."

Dulce was confused. "Imogen, aren't they getting married?"

If they were getting married, why come to her and say all this?

"Married?" Imogen said. "No, I would never let Wendy marry into our family. Did Francis tell you about the Holmes family? Francis is only taking care of them out of respect for a deceased colleague."

Hearing they weren't getting married, Dulce was also surprised. She had heard it that day.

Could it be that the scheduled time wasn't for a wedding?

"I know a bit," Dulce said, touching her neck. "Francis is a responsible man."

Imogen said with a stern face, "That's foolishness. The Holmes family wants my son to support their entire family. Dream on."

Talking about the Holmes family's intentions made Imogen furious.

Dulce could also see that the Holmes family was trying to cling to Francis, but she didn't want to comment.

Imogen held Dulce's hand warmly and said, "Dulce, get back together with Francis. I won't treat you badly. After you get married, I'll move to the countryside and not bother you."

Talking about marriage already?

Dulce was troubled. "Imogen, this isn't something I can decide on my own."

"It is up to you," Imogen said. "Dulce, if you don't want to give up on Francis, take a step forward. My son is loyal to a fault and takes promises seriously. If you don't push him, he won't move forward."

Imogen said earnestly, "Let me be honest with you. Wendy is a divorced woman with a daughter. Francis has a promising career. How could I let him marry such a woman? Not to mention the Holmes family elders. If Francis marries Wendy, he'll be like a son to someone else, raising someone else's child."
