Chapter 599 Pregnant Again

Maggie had a high fever and started convulsing.

Arya hurriedly called Dylan over, "Dr. Mason, come quickly and check on Maggie. She was fine just a moment ago, how did she suddenly get a fever?"

Dylan said, "Don't worry, let me take a look first."

Maggie was in a dazed state, sometimes saying she was cold, sometimes saying she was hot.

Dylan used a thermometer to check Maggie's temperature. "She has a high fever and needs to take some fever-reducing medicine immediately. Arya, it's in the medicine cabinet on the second shelf. It's clearly labeled. Please go get it quickly."

"Okay, I'll go right away."

Arya was also very anxious and quickly went to get the medicine.

As soon as she left, Dylan's expression suddenly became serious while examining Maggie. He let go of Maggie's hand, went to the bathroom to wet a towel, and placed it on Maggie's forehead to cool her down physically.

"Dr. Mason, I got the medicine," Arya said. "Is this the right one?"

"We can't use it now," Dylan said. "Given Maggie's current condition, she can't take fever-reducing medicine. Arya, go get some hot water to wipe her body and cool her down physically. I'll go get some cooling patches."

Arya was puzzled, "Why can't she take the medicine?"

Dylan glanced at the feverish and delirious Maggie and said, "She's pregnant."

Arya thought she had misheard and was overjoyed, "Dr. Mason, really? Maggie is really pregnant? She can still get pregnant?"

Arya was well aware of Maggie's physical condition and had not held out much hope.

Dylan said, "I just examined Maggie. She is indeed pregnant. It's truly a miracle. The last time I checked her, her condition was very poor, and it was unlikely she could conceive. But she did."

Arya smiled and said, "This is a miracle. I feel so happy for Maggie."

Arya bowed to the air, muttering words of thanks.

Since Maggie was pregnant, she couldn't take fever-reducing medicine, so Dylan had to use other methods to lower her temperature.

That night, Maggie was very uncomfortable, and Arya took care of her the whole time. It wasn't until almost dawn that Maggie's fever finally subsided.

Maggie slept in a daze, and by the time she woke up, it was almost noon.

Maggie opened her eyes and looked at the scenery outside the window, feeling as if she had been away for years.

The world had become quiet, and it seemed like she had slept for a long time.

Arya came in with a bowl of warm water. Seeing Maggie awake, she said happily, "Maggie, are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere? Are you hungry? I had Erin make some porridge for you. I'll go get it."

Maggie asked, "Mom, where's Fiorello? Hasn't he come back yet?"

"No, Fiorello didn't come back after he went out last night. He might be busy," Arya said. "You just got over a fever, and your body is still weak. Rest more. I'll get you something to eat."

"Mom, I don't have an appetite." Maggie felt weak all over and had no taste in her mouth.

"You have to eat even if you don't have an appetite. Without nutrition, how will the baby grow? The baby needs nutrition."

Maggie was stunned and asked, "What baby?"

Arya smiled and said, "You're pregnant. Dr. Mason said it himself. You probably got the fever because your immune system weakened due to the pregnancy and you've been too tired lately. Now that the fever is gone, take good care of yourself. Only if you're well will the baby be well."

"I'm pregnant?" Maggie found it hard to believe. She placed her trembling hand on her lower abdomen. At her lowest emotional point, she had conceived a baby.

She had once desperately wanted a child, but now that she was actually pregnant, she didn't feel as happy as she had imagined.

This baby came at the worst possible time.

If she had this baby, then Adalia would truly be forgotten by everyone.

Maggie feared that Fiorello, her mother, and the Flores family would all shift their attention to this baby and forget about Adalia. She also worried that she would shift her focus.

She was afraid she wouldn't be able to be fair.

Arya smiled and said, "Yes, you're pregnant. Dr. Mason said it himself. When Fiorello comes back, we'll tell him the good news. Maggie, our family finally has some good news."

Maggie hesitantly asked, "What about Adalia?"
