Chapter 670 The Due Date Has Arrived
Maggie had considered other reasons, but she never expected it to be such an explosive one.
"Really?" Maggie was shocked. "Francis isn't that kind of person. How could he have slept with Wendy? If he liked Wendy, he definitely wouldn't have messed with you. It doesn't make sense."
Maggie had known Francis for over a year and trusted his character.
Dulce said, "Francis admitted it himself. Last Wednesday, he got drunk at Wendy's place, and they ended up sleeping in the same bed."
"Does Francis really know what happened? Did he really sleep with her?" Maggie said. "I've seen this kind of thing with Fiorello many times. He got drunk before, and some woman climbed into his bed, took suggestive photos, and sent them to me. It turned out Jenny did it on purpose. Seeing isn't always believing."
Dulce laughed, "You can't be sure about these things, so you just have to accept it. Besides, Wendy's husband saved Francis's life. Francis has been taking care of her family out of gratitude. Now that it's come to this, he has to take responsibility. I saw this coming. Francis can't just easily shake off Wendy and her family."
Maggie felt it was a pity and said, "Wendy's family is forcing Francis. Because of the life-saving debt, he has to devote his whole life to them."
"Edward is dead, so Francis has to take on the responsibilities of a son, husband, and father for their family," Dulce said. "He can't escape it, so he has to bear it. When Wendy begged me not to compete with her, I felt sorry for her. Without Francis, I can find someone else, but Wendy's family would have no support. How would they survive?"
Maggie didn't know what to say for a moment and just felt regretful. "You're too soft-hearted, still thinking about your rival at a time like this."
"I'm just too lazy to fight. There are plenty of men out there, why fight?" Dulce said. "Look at Isabella and Jenny. I don't know if they're stupid or what, but they keep coveting Fiorello. If it's not yours, you can't fight for it. If it is, you can't lose it."
Maggie laughed, "You're really open-minded now."
"I learned it from you," Dulce laughed. "Let me feel the babies. What are they doing in there every day?"
Dulce liked to touch Maggie's belly, finding it fascinating. "Maggie, your belly is so big, much bigger than when you were pregnant with Adalia. Do you have any stretch marks?"
"No, Fiorello bought me some cream to prevent them, so I don't have any," Maggie said, stroking her belly. She was now just looking forward to the birth of the babies.
"Fiorello is really an all-around model husband," Dulce praised. "He set the bar so high that my standards for men have also gone up. Have you picked out names?"
"Yes, if it's a girl, she'll be named Katniss. If it's a boy, Theodric."
"You guys are really happy," Dulce envied. "Anyway, I'm definitely going to be the godmother. By the way, how's Adalia doing lately?"
"Everything's good."
Maggie's life was moving in a positive direction.
Her daily task was to take care of her pregnancy.
After breaking up with Francis, Dulce didn't go back to the police station. She focused on her career, running her beauty salon.
But Francis didn't marry Wendy either. However, Dulce didn't care about these things anymore.
Time flew by, and Maggie's due date arrived. Fiorello accompanied her for the final prenatal checkup. All the previous checkups had been fine, but this time, there was a problem.
