Chapter 614 Maggie Feels Heartbroken

Adalia was poisoned and rendered mute. The fact that Adalia became mute was bad news for Maggie.

Maggie immediately broke down. She was so grief-stricken that she couldn't control her emotions, holding Adalia and crying uncontrollably.

Arya also found it hard to accept for a moment. How could a perfectly fine child be poisoned mute? How cruel could someone be?

Arya immediately looked sharply at Olivia. "Isabella actually poisoned Adalia's throat. Adalia never offended her. Isabella is too vicious. We absolutely won't forgive her. She must be brought to justice."

Olivia didn't know that Adalia's throat was damaged. Seeing Adalia just a bit thinner when she returned, she had felt relieved, thinking she could plead for leniency.

Now, Olivia didn't even have the courage to speak. She didn't dare to look at the expressions on Maggie and Fiorello's faces.

Fiorello then noticed Olivia was there, exuding a murderous aura. "Brian, throw her out."

"Yes, Fiorello." Brian immediately took action, dragging Olivia out.

Olivia shouted at Arya, "Arya, this must be a misunderstanding. Isabella wouldn't do that. She's your own niece. I only have one daughter. You can't let her go to jail. This is forcing me to die."

Arya remained unmoved. Seeing Adalia suffer, she was still burning with anger.

Maggie stood up, looking coldly at Olivia. "Even killing Isabella wouldn't make up for her crimes. I deeply regret being lenient with you. I already gave her one chance. This time, she can wait for prison."

Mercy is a double-edged sword, often hurting oneself.

Olivia was thrown out.

With no result from pleading here, Olivia went to the police station to speak on Isabella's behalf.

Eleanor and Joseph also knew about Adalia being found and quickly came to visit.

When Adalia was missing, everyone was heavy-hearted. Now that she was found, that heavy feeling hadn't lessened much.

A healthy person becoming mute, even Dylan said it couldn't be cured. How could this not lead to despair?

Adalia liked to be alone. When there were too many people, she got scared. Eleanor and Joseph only dared to look from the doorway, afraid to get too close and upset Adalia.

Adalia hugged her favorite doll, sitting dazed on the couch, curling up, feeling very insecure.

Maggie sat beside her, feeling heartbroken. She wanted to reach out and touch Adalia, but Adalia was very scared and backed away.

Maggie painfully withdrew her hand and gently said, "Adalia, do you want some fruit? I'll get it for you."

Adalia shook her head, then got up, hugged her doll, went to the bed, and burrowed under the covers, wrapping herself tightly.

Not long after, Adalia fell asleep under the covers.

Maggie watched the sleeping Adalia, still unable to stop her tears.

She held Adalia's small hand, feeling her warmth, truly feeling that her daughter was back.

But she would never hear Adalia call her "Mom" again.

Maggie knew she owed Adalia too much, a debt she could never repay.

Maggie stayed by Adalia's side, not leaving her for a moment.

Regarding Isabella's punishment, Fiorello and Maggie showed no mercy. If the police hadn't taken Isabella first, Fiorello would have dealt with her privately, making her pay with her life.

At the police station, Isabella was very cooperative, confessing everything.

On the day of the wedding, after drugging Adalia, she avoided the surveillance, hid her in the hotel garbage truck, and had the driver unknowingly transport her out. She then secretly moved Adalia from the landfill.

Worried that Adalia would scream and be discovered, Isabella poisoned her throat. As for the rest, she did nothing more.

She only imprisoned Adalia to get back at Maggie and Fiorello, making them taste daily suffering.

Kidnapping, assault, child abuse—these charges were not minor.

After confessing, Isabella requested the interrogators, "Can I see my mom? I know I'm going to jail. My parents only have one daughter. I want to see my mom one last time."

Olivia was at the police station, also demanding to see Isabella.

The interrogators looked at each other and said, "Okay."

This was also in line with the procedure, allowing family visits.
