Chapter 570 Drooling

Maggie holds a high place in Dulce's heart, and Francis has witnessed it firsthand.

"I heard that you also played matchmaker for Maggie and Fiorello?"

"More or less," Dulce laughed. "It was Maggie's fate. After all the hardships she's been through, she deserves some happiness. Francis, you must catch Jenny and not let her ruin the wedding."

"Don't worry, that's my duty."

As they were chatting, Dulce heard some noise outside. Below the office was a training ground where police officers were training.

The sound was exhilarating.

Dulce couldn't help but run to the window to watch, almost drooling.

Each one was shirtless, and those muscles were drool-worthy.

Dulce muttered to herself, "No wonder I can't find a boyfriend; they're all here. So handsome, so cool, young, and muscular. They're perfect."

Francis was speechless. "Wipe your drool."

Dulce instinctively wiped her mouth, realizing she had been tricked. "What, jealous that I'm looking at handsome men?"

Francis said, "They're all police officers. Don't mess with them."

"How am I messing with them? I'm a young woman too, you know," Dulce said with a cheeky smile. "Francis, help me get their contact info. I've helped you so many times; help me just this once? The first one in the front row, the most handsome one."

Francis glanced at the training ground and sneered, "You have good taste. That's the most handsome guy in our police force. He has a girlfriend."

"No way. What do you think about the second one? The second one is also handsome. I'll settle for the second one."

"That one."

Dulce interrupted him, "Don't tell me he has a girlfriend too."

Francis said, "He doesn't have a girlfriend."

Dulce's heart leaped with joy, but before she could celebrate, Francis said, "He has a fiancée. They're getting married next month. The invitation is on my desk."

"Why do all the handsome ones have girlfriends? Good men are always popular, unlike you, the leftover ones."

Francis stared at her. "Hmm?"

Dulce realized she had misspoken and smiled sweetly. "The best of the best."

Francis snorted, "A girl should be more reserved. Don't always be staring at men."

Dulce said, "If women don't look at men, what should they look at?"

"Francis," came Wendy's gentle voice from the doorway.

Dulce and Francis turned to see Wendy coming in with a thermos.

"I made you some chicken soup. I heard you've been working hard on a case lately. Have some to replenish your energy," Wendy said as she opened the thermos and served Francis a bowl.

Wendy was a gentle person, always speaking and acting softly. She was a great cook and, in most men's eyes, the ideal wife.

Wendy politely offered Dulce, "Miss Quixote, would you like some too?"

"No, thank you," Dulce knew better. This wasn't a genuine invitation for her to drink the soup.

Francis said, "Wendy, you don't need to bring these anymore. You work hard enough as it is."

"It's no trouble. I don't have much to do, so I cook," Wendy said with a smile. "Try it. When do you get off work today? I'll go home and cook for you."

"I'm busy lately, not sure when I'll get off. Wendy, really, it's no trouble," Francis said, not touching the soup. "I have a case to work on. Wendy, you should head home early."

Then, Francis turned to Dulce, "What are you standing there for? Let's go."

Dulce was puzzled. "Where to? Am I going too?"

"We're going to find clues about Jenny," Francis said as he walked out.

Dulce glanced at Wendy and quickly followed. "Francis, Wendy worked hard on that soup. Why don't you at least try it?"

"Don't ask questions you shouldn't."

"Last time you ate her cooking, you enjoyed it."

Francis frowned. "Dulce, if you like it, you go drink it."

This inexplicable anger left Dulce feeling baffled, so she said nothing more.
