Chapter 193 You Are Father and Daughter
Driving uphill usually involves stepping on the gas pedal more than the brake. Maggie rarely used the brake while going uphill because there were few cars on the mountain. She almost always just stepped on the gas pedal to drive up the mountain.
Maggie thought carefully and didn't notice anything unusual. After driving up the mountain, Maggie parked the car in the parking lot. After chatting with Angela, she started the car to drive down the mountain.
"Everything is normal," Maggie said. "I didn't notice anything wrong when driving up the mountain."
The police looked at each other and said, "There are some coincidences in this case. We need to investigate again. Has Mrs. Flores offended anyone recently?"
Maggie shook her head. "Other than the conflict with Selena, nothing else."
In her memory, Maggie couldn't remember offending anyone.
After questioning by the police, Fiorello escorted them out and reminded them, "Check the surveillance at the Enchanted Manor parking lot. If the car wasn't tampered with in the company parking lot, it might have been at the Enchanted Manor."
This suggestion from Fiorello gave the police another direction.
"Mr. Flores, rest assured, we will thoroughly investigate this case."
"Alright, thank you both."
Fiorello escorted them to the elevator, and Jenny, who happened to overhear his conversation with the police, turned pale when she heard about checking the surveillance at the Enchanted Manor parking lot.
Jenny hurriedly left through another exit and quickly made a phone call. "Dad, I messed up; you have to help me..."
The person who caused trouble in Maggie's car was Jenny.
Jenny had previously been lucky that Selena took the blame for her, but Selena had been refusing to confess.
Now that the police and Fiorello were suspicious about the car accident and looking into Jenny, things were going to be disastrous.
Initially, Jenny just wanted to teach Maggie a lesson and didn't expect such a serious car accident to happen.
Since the accident occurred and Maggie was so lucky to survive, it was really a pity.
After the police left, Maggie fell into contemplation.
It was terrifying to think about if someone else was targeting Maggie, invisible to her but visible to her enemies.
"Maggie." Fiorello returned to the hospital room and saw Maggie sitting there, lost in thought, knowing what was on her mind.
Fiorello walked over and sat on the edge of the bed, holding Maggie's hand, and said, "Don't worry, I'm here."
"Who do you think might want to kill me? I've been racking my brain, but I really can't think of anyone I've offended, anyone I have a deep grudge with."
Maggie casually said, "Just tell me, did you provoke other women outside?"
Although Maggie said this casually, Fiorello took it to heart.
Maggie's accident occurred after Fiorello announced his marriage on News Feed.
Fiorello promised solemnly, "Whoever it is, I will definitely find them and avenge you."
The topic was too heavy and unsettling, so Maggie changed the subject. "By the way, how is Adalia doing in kindergarten?"
While in a coma, Maggie seemed to hear Adalia's voice.
"Adalia is very adaptable. She made many friends in kindergarten. When you were in a coma, I accompanied Adalia to school activities. I'll show you the photos."
Fiorello took out his phone and showed Maggie the information sent by the kindergarten principal.
It was Fiorello who secretly supported Adalia and donated the new equipment to the kindergarten. The principal, being observant, knew Fiorello was wealthy and gave special attention, sending him photos and videos of parent-child activities.
Naturally, Adalia was treated very well at school, as the principal had informed the teachers to take care of her.
The principal had specifically sent Fiorello a copy of the photos and videos from the last parent-child activity.
Maggie watched the video of Fiorello playing games with Adalia; seeing Adalia happy made Maggie smile, too.
"It's a shame I couldn't join you both. I promised Adalia before, but I didn't fulfill it." Maggie felt a bit regretful.
Fiorello said, "These school activities happen often. When you're discharged, we'll accompany Adalia together."
"Okay."
Maggie was looking forward to it. As she looked at the photos and videos, seeing Fiorello and Adalia so happy, she casually said, "I almost thought you two were father and daughter. Look, when you smile, you both have dimples. She looks precisely the same to you."
