Chapter 330 Confession, No More Pretending
Maggie had a feeling that Isabella had been deceiving her from the start.
But then she thought it unnecessary. Isabella had no reason to lie to her.
Maggie didn't dwell on it and got into the car.
Isabella took Maggie to a restaurant, parked at the entrance, and got Maggie to look across the street.
Isabella asked, "Maggie, what do you think of the shops over there?"
Maggie glanced over and then looked around. "There are many office buildings here. Shops in this area are prime real estate, very good. Why do you ask, Isabella?"
"I bought one and plan to open a coffee shop," Isabella said with a smile, "Do you want to invest with me?"
"You bought one?" Maggie was quite surprised. A shop here would cost at least ten million dollars. "Where did you get so much money?"
Although Isabella's family was wealthy, they weren't rich enough to casually spend tens of millions of dollars on a shop.
Isabella said, "I sold two of my parents' relocation houses. Now my parents live in one, and the money from selling the other houses was given to me. I bought this shop and plan to open a coffee shop to have some income and support myself in the future."
Maggie couldn't understand Isabella's thinking. "Wouldn't it be better to keep the houses and collect rent? Why open a coffee shop? Isn't James interested in the relocation houses? Won't he make a fuss if you sell them?"
Isabella sneered. "I'm afraid he won't make a fuss."
Maggie frowned, feeling that there was more to Isabella's words than met the ear.
"Let's go in and eat first," Isabella said, pulling Maggie to the second floor of the restaurant, where they could still see the shop across the street from their window seat.
"Maggie, would you consider investing in opening the coffee shop with me? You can't earn much working for others. Why not be your own boss?"
Isabella didn't know Fiorello's true identity, which was why she said this.
Maggie shook her head and said, "No, I'm not familiar with running a shop. I'd rather keep working."
She really wasn't interested, and partnering with Isabella in business would likely lead to arguments.
Their relationship had only recently been mended, and involving benefits would surely lead to a fallout.
"Are you worried about not having money to invest? You don't need to put in any money. Just help out at the shop, and I'll give you some shares of the business. I'll take eighty percent, and you take twenty percent. How about that?"
Getting a twenty percent share without investing any money?
Maggie looked at Isabella in surprise and asked, "Are you out of your mind?"
This was like throwing money at her.
Isabella laughed and replied, "I've come to realize our relationship is the most reliable. Husbands can betray you, and parents can't be with you forever. My parents have only one daughter, and I have no siblings. If something happens, there's no one to help me. Maggie, I hope we can become the closest. Helping each other is normal."
Isabella's eyes were sincere, and Maggie was quite moved. She smiled. "Isabella, I appreciate your kindness, but I really can't get involved in your coffee shop. Fiorello wouldn't agree either."
She had agreed to learn business from Fiorello and would be going to Visionary Futures Group headquarters next month. She wouldn't have time to open a coffee shop.
"Why wouldn't Fiorello agree?" Isabella said, "You both have to work. Adalia will need money for school in the future. The more you can earn, the better. Fiorello should be off work now. Call him to join us for dinner."
"Well," Maggie hesitated and said, "Fiorello started a company, and I'll be helping him next month."
Isabella asked, "What company did Fiorello start?"
Maggie said, "Visionary Futures Group. He owns it."
This left Isabella stunned. Even someone who hadn't worked in the corporate world had heard of Visionary Futures Group.
It was one of the top-ranked companies in the Fortune 500 and the wealthiest in Cyberland.
Isabella laughed and said, "Maggie, you must be joking."
