Chapter 572 Jenny Is About to Give Birth

Dylan shook his head, released Maggie, and said, "Frankly speaking, it's better if you don't have such thoughts. With your health condition, trying to conceive is futile."

Maggie was instantly in despair. "Is there really no chance at all? Dr. Mason, you're so skilled; there must be a way, right? You could also give me acupuncture."

"I heard you had a miscarriage last time, and your uterus was almost beyond saving. Maggie, your immune system is weakened, your resistance is poor, and you're prone to illness. Moreover, your uterus is scarred and can't handle a pregnancy," Dylan said. "Fiorello is sincere with you. Actually, not having children is okay. Fiorello treats Adalia as his own."

"That's different. Adalia is not Fiorello's biological daughter," Maggie shook her head and said, "I want him to have his child."

Seeing Maggie's persistence, Dylan pondered for a moment and said, "I'll prescribe some medicine to help you recuperate, but I can't guarantee it will work. You need to build a good foundation first; only with good health can anything be possible."

"Thank you, Dr. Mason." Maggie seemed to see a glimmer of hope. "I hope Dr. Mason can keep this a secret. If Fiorello finds out, he'll worry again."

Fiorello definitely couldn't bear to see her suffer and would stop her from trying to conceive.

"Understood," Dylan said. "As a doctor, I have a responsibility to keep my patients' secrets."

Dylan prescribed the medicine to Maggie, and that night, Maggie took it.

The medicine was really bitter, but Maggie thought of it as her hope and no bitterness could deter her.

To prevent Fiorello from finding out, Maggie always took the medicine, rinsed her mouth, and cleaned up before Fiorello came home, even removing any trace of the medicine's smell from her body.

Time passed quickly.

In the blink of an eye, it was already August in Cyberland.

There was no news at all about the escaped Jenny. According to the due date, Jenny was supposed to give birth around these days.

Fiorello had sent many people out to look for her, but there was no trace.

In the CEO's office of Visionary Futures Group.

Holden had made some progress after being trained by Fiorello for a few months. As long as the issue wasn't tricky, he could handle it on his own.

Holden was exhausted after a busy morning. He went to Fiorello's office to complain, "Fiorello, I haven't had a break for months. How about giving me a few days off?"

"Next month, Maggie and I are getting married. With so many things to do, do you really have the nerve to ask for a vacation?" Fiorello threw another stack of files at Holden. "Take these and get familiar with them."

"Fiorello, have mercy," Holden sighed dramatically. "Now I understand why Gregory didn't want to join the Flores family. He didn't want to be exploited by you. He was too wise."

"Stop talking nonsense," Fiorello glared at him. "Get to work."

"Fiorello, isn't Jenny about to give birth?" Holden said. "Since she escaped, there's been no news. She should be due around now. The thought of a Flores family child with a fugitive mother is just so pitiful."

Fiorello's expression remained indifferent. "That's Gregory's child. It's his problem to think about, not yours."

Holden could hear the anger in Fiorello's tone.

If Maggie hadn't miscarried back then, the child would have been born by now, and the Flores family would be filled with joy and laughter.

Holden said no more, took the files and left.

Fiorello took a box out of the drawer, inside which was a talisman he had prepared as a gift for the child.

But he never got the chance to give it.

Fiorello would never forget the feeling of holding his son's lifeless body—despair, grief, and pain.

Now that Maggie couldn't conceive, he had no chance to be a father again. His hatred for Jenny was so deep that even if she died a hundred times, it wouldn't be enough.

Meanwhile.

In the basement of a villa.

Jenny knew her due date was these days. She was very scared and asked Ivan to take her to the hospital. Ivan only said, "Go back to die?"
