Chapter 744 Bringing the Baby Back

Maggie and Dulce landed at Cyberland Airport that evening.

Saskia drove to pick them up, and when they arrived at Sunset Hills, Maggie saw the peach blossoms in the yard and began to feel sad.

Fiorello had planted them for her, knowing she liked peach blossoms. He personally bought the peach trees and planted them one by one.

Now the peach trees were budding and blooming, but the person who promised to watch the flowers with her was no longer there.

"Maggie." Arya heard the car engine stop and knew Maggie was back. She happily walked out of the house.

Maggie turned around and hoarsely called out, "Mom."

"How did you get so thin?" Arya was startled by Maggie's appearance. She was frighteningly thin, with sunken eyes, a haggard look, poor skin condition, and acne on her face. She no longer had her previous good looks.

Arya felt heartbroken.

"Mom, I'm fine." Maggie tried to smile, wanting to comfort Arya, but the smile was uglier than crying, making Arya feel even more heartbroken.

Dulce said, "Aunt Arya, let's go inside."

"Okay, let's go inside." Arya held Maggie's hand and walked into the house, turning her face to the side to wipe away tears where Maggie couldn't see.

Adalia was studying upstairs. Hearing the noise, she ran downstairs and saw that Maggie was back. She immediately started crying.

Adalia cried as she threw herself into Maggie's arms, afraid that her parents would never come back.

As Adalia cried, Maggie cried too. The mother and daughter hugged each other and wept.

After crying, Maggie wiped Adalia's tears. "Alright, stop crying. Mommy is back now."

Adalia's eyes were red as she signed, "Mommy, I missed you and Daddy. Is Daddy back?"

Mentioning Fiorello made Maggie's heart ache. She said, "I'm sorry, baby. Mommy couldn't bring Daddy back. I'm sorry."

Afraid that the topic of Fiorello would make Maggie lose control of her emotions, Dulce said, "Adalia, your mom just got back and is very tired. Let her rest for a while, okay? I'll play with you."

Adalia nodded sensibly. "Okay, Mommy, go rest."

Maggie didn't see Katie and Nate and asked Arya, "Mom, where are Katie and Nate? Are they asleep?"

Arya hesitated and said, "Your mother-in-law took both kids back to the Flores Manor."

After Eleanor returned from San Diego, she took her grandchildren back to the Flores Manor. They were the bloodline of the Flores family, and Arya couldn't stop her.

Besides, with Fiorello's accident and no body found, the two grandchildren became Eleanor's emotional support. Arya couldn't bear to say much.

Hearing that the two babies were taken away by Eleanor, Maggie had no intention of resting. She said, "I'm going to the Flores Manor to bring the kids back now."

Arya advised, "Maggie, it's getting dark. Rest for a night first, and then go to the Flores Manor to see the kids. How will your in-laws get through this sad time if you take the kids away?"

"But they are my children." Maggie suddenly realized something. With Fiorello's accident, she had become a widow. Eleanor urgently took the kids away, intending to keep them.

They were Fiorello's bloodline, and Eleanor wanted to find solace in the two children.

Maggie didn't listen to Arya and insisted that Saskia drive her to the Flores Manor.

Arya, fearing something might happen, went along with Dulce.

At the Flores Manor.

Katie and Nate were already crawling, and they were not even six months old.

Most children started crawling at eight months, so crawling at six months indicated good motor development.

The two babies crawled on the soft mat in the playpen, reaching for various toys. They would laugh together and also fight over toys, then cry together.

After Fiorello's accident, Eleanor relied on her grandchildren to get through the toughest times.

Eleanor rarely went out. She stayed home with the babies, and even when she did go out, she would push the babies in a stroller.

As soon as Maggie entered, she heard the children's laughter and followed the sound to the nursery.

After more than a month of not seeing them, the babies had grown and looked even more adorable.

Seeing the happy babies, Maggie finally had a smile on her face. "Katie, Nate."

Maggie walked straight to the babies, forgetting to greet Eleanor.

Seeing Maggie suddenly return, Eleanor said, "Maggie, you're back."

Maggie picked up Nate, who was closest to her, kissed his little face, and felt a wave of tenderness. She said, "Yes, Mom, I just got back. I'm here to take the babies home."
