Chapter 356 There Were Many Men
Maggie glanced at Dulce and asked, "Should we just barge in?"
"Yeah." Dulce had been holding back for a long time. Now that Maggie and Brian were with her, she felt confident. She knocked on the door.
Hearing the knock, the person inside would definitely come to open the door. Sure enough, after a moment, the door opened.
It was Oliver, wearing only a towel.
Seeing Dulce at the door, Oliver's expression changed instantly. He instinctively tried to close the door, but it was too late.
Brian, thinking this was a minor issue but still wanting to do his job well, held the door open, giving Dulce a chance to enter.
Hearing the commotion inside, someone asked, "Oliver, who is it?"
Hearing this voice, Dulce quickly stepped inside and saw a woman in her fifties, weighing about 150 pounds, sitting on the couch in a bathrobe.
The table was set with steak, flowers, and candlelight, creating a very romantic atmosphere. The air was filled with the scent of perfume, setting the mood perfectly.
Dulce pointed at the woman and questioned Oliver, "An old woman like this? You can actually do this? Oliver, you bastard."
Dulce angrily kicked Oliver repeatedly.
Clara asked angrily, "Oliver, who is this woman? What's going on?"
"Clara, it's all a misunderstanding. This is my sister." Oliver endured the pain, not daring to tell the truth. He pulled Dulce aside and whispered, "You go out first, I'll explain later."
"You don't need to explain. Dressed like this, it's obvious what's going on." Dulce angrily hit Oliver. "You found such an old woman."
Clara also realized what was happening. She stood up. "Oliver, is this your girlfriend? You have a girlfriend? And you're still hanging out with me?"
Clara was also very angry. She was a divorced, wealthy single woman who liked to play with younger men but never with those who had girlfriends.
Clara walked up to Dulce and said, "Madam, women inevitably age. Let us refrain from employing such cutting expressions. If I have known his attachment, I would not have invested my interest in him. Financially secure, I am never lacking in admirers. With years abundant, I have encountered a myriad of individuals. Permit not a solitary individual to disturb your peace."
With that, Clara took her clothes, went to the bathroom to change, and left.
"Clara, it's all a misunderstanding." Oliver still wanted to salvage the situation. Clara had promised to buy him a Porsche tomorrow.
Clara left directly. Dulce, calmed by Clara's words, was no longer angry.
She shouldn't be angry over one man. There were plenty of men out there; she could just find another one.
If Clara could let it go, so could she.
She needed to cut her losses in time.
Clara's words even taught Maggie something: in matters of love, if both parties were willing, it was fine. If not, part ways amicably.
After Clara left, Oliver tried to coax Dulce again, "Sweetheart, it was all a misunderstanding. She's a client. I was delivering clothes to her. The faucet broke and got her clothes wet, so I put this on."
Dulce looked at him and said, "Oliver, do I look like an idiot? I don't believe you."
"Dulce."
"Don't Dulce me." Dulce found it grating. "Remember, Oliver, it's me, Dulce, who doesn't want you today."
Seeing that Dulce was serious, Oliver got agitated too. "I've been with you for so long and haven't even touched your hand. I'm a man, I did nothing wrong. It's all your fault. You think I want to play with you? I saw you were dumb and willing to spend money. Otherwise, I wouldn't waste my time with you."
Last time in Emberwood, Oliver had tried to drug Dulce, but she had accidentally knocked over the drugged drink, foiling his plan.
Oliver wanted to find a rich woman. When he found out Maggie was the wife of Visionary Futures's boss and that Dulce was her friend, he decided to stick with Dulce for more benefits.
Oliver's honest words made Dulce completely give up. She glared at Oliver, walked towards him step by step, and then, catching him off guard, kicked him in the groin.
A scream echoed through the hotel hallway. After teaching Oliver a lesson, Dulce pulled Maggie and left gracefully, with Brian handling the aftermath.
Outside the hotel, Maggie was a bit worried about Dulce, "Are you okay?"
Dulce took a deep breath, seemingly letting go, "I'm fine. It's just a man, Maggie. I should have listened to you earlier. He's a jerk."
