Chapter 277 He Is a CEO

Maggie hesitated, noticing that Farrell had no intention of leaving. She approached him.

Farrell's gaze was fixed on her, and his expression was strange.

Maggie greeted him, "Good morning."

"Good morning," Farrell restrained his emotions. Maggie walked towards the elevator, and he followed.

Maggie found his behavior increasingly peculiar, but since they were colleagues, it was normal for him to take the same elevator.

Maggie didn't say anything. The two entered the elevator one after the other. Farrell stared at her and asked, "Was that your husband in the car just now?"

Due to the distance earlier, Farrell hadn't clearly seen the person in the car, but he had noted the license plate number.

Out of politeness, Maggie responded, "Yes."

Farrell stepped closer, getting nearer to Maggie, and questioned, "Why did you choose him? What's so good about him?"

Maggie found the question odd, especially given Farrell’s strange demeanor. She quickly distanced herself. "That’s personal."

Naturally, she wouldn't share her personal matters with someone she wasn't very familiar with.

Farrell pressed on, still questioning, "You've been on dates through Destiny."

Maggie felt a bit annoyed and frowned. "Yes, so what?"

Farrell's expression darkened. "I've been on many dates through Destiny, too. Almost everyone on there is a scammer, either trying to get me to buy drinks or meals at expensive places. Those women tricked me into dining at high-end restaurants, costing thousands of dollars per meal. They're all bad people."

Hearing Farrell's agitation and extreme words, Maggie felt a bit uneasy. "Farrell, don't think too negatively. There are good people on there, too, really."

At that moment, the elevator doors opened, and Maggie hurried out, unwilling to stay in the same space with him any longer.

"I'll head to the office first," Maggie said, walking briskly towards her office.

Farrell stepped out of the elevator, his gaze fixed on Maggie's figure, his fists clenched tightly.

In Farrell's eyes, Maggie was a fraud, cheating on her husband while dating others. She was his date, and she should be his.

Maggie entered her office and quickly took a sip of coffee. The office had been cleaned during her two-month absence and was very tidy.

Shortly after she arrived, Angela came in. "Maggie."

Knowing that Maggie was coming to work today, Angela came to find her as soon as she arrived at the company. "Welcome back. Today, we have a client whose style matches your design style. Since you're back, let's go meet them together."

"No problem." Maggie smiled. "It feels great to have work to do. I’m full of energy."

Maggie quickly got into work mode, finding her sense of value, which made her feel fulfilled.

Before she knew it, the morning had passed. They had confirmed the client's needs and were waiting to produce the final design.

At lunchtime, Maggie and Angela went to the cafeteria together. They got their trays, served two meals, and found a place to sit.

"Angela, I didn't see Emily today. Did she take a day off?"

"I'm not sure. I haven't seen her today either," Angela said while eating, "Maggie, why didn't you take a longer break? Why rush back to work?"

"Of course, for the money," Maggie joked. "Fiorello is the only one earning money at home. The pressure is high for both elderly and children to support. The household expenses are large."

Hearing this, Angela almost choked on her food. "If your husband is short on money, then we're all poor."

"Angela, you're exaggerating," Maggie thought Angela was just joking and said, "My husband's salary is just average in Cyberland, around twenty to thirty thousand dollars a month, and he has to work overtime. If it weren't for the good year-end bonuses and benefits, life would be tough."

Angela was stunned, a monthly salary of twenty to thirty thousand dollars.

The CEO of Visionary Futures Group had kept his secret well.

Although Angela knew Fiorello had deceived Maggie, the lie was too outrageous.

As a long-time employee of AL Jewelry, Angela attended the company's annual meeting and saw Fiorello. She recognized him in the hospital but hadn’t said anything, as Maggie was unaware.

Angela smiled. "Maggie, you've found someone worthwhile. The Visionary Futures Group has great benefits."
