Chapter 676 Awakening and Reunion

Fiorello went to touch his daughter, what else could Eleanor say?

Eleanor could only say, "You young people just don't have the experience, you don't know how to take care of kids."

Joseph said, "You should say less."

Eleanor ignored Joseph. Their marriage was now just a formality, in name only. She asked, "Fiorello, how's Maggie doing?"

Fiorello said, "She hasn't woken up yet, but there's no bleeding for now. Once the anesthesia wears off, she should wake up. Dad, Mom, why don't you go home and rest for a bit? There's a nanny here to take care of the kids. You can't stay here all the time."

"Let your dad go back. I'll stay here," Eleanor couldn't bear to leave her grandchildren. She said to Holden, who had just come in, "Go home and pack a few sets of clothes for me and bring them here."

Holden was confused.

Fiorello said, "Mom, you can go home and rest for a bit and come back. It won't take much time, no need to make it so complicated."

Joseph exposed Eleanor's thoughts, saying, "Your mom can't leave her grandchildren now, she doesn't want to go. Just let her stay here."

Fiorello couldn't argue with Eleanor and didn't say anything more.

Maggie stayed in the ICU for a week. She woke up a few times during that period, but she was always groggy and never fully conscious.

A week later, she was transferred to a regular room.

During that week, Fiorello didn't dare to relax. He stayed at the hospital every day, afraid that something might happen to Maggie.

Giving birth to these two kids almost cost Maggie her life. When she woke up, her face was pale, and her hair was a mess. Fiorello had changed her clothes and cleaned her body, except for her hair, which couldn't be washed. Everything else was fine.

Maggie opened her eyes and looked at the world, feeling a bit disoriented. "I thought I was going to die."

After entering the operating room, she really thought she was done for this time.

In the ICU, she had some awareness and knew her condition was critical. Sometimes she could hear what the doctors were saying.

"You made it through, Maggie. You're the best. I'm so proud of you," Fiorello held Maggie's hand tenderly, kissing the back of her hand. His eyes were red, and they were bloodshot. He hadn't dared to sleep these past few days. "You've worked hard."

Maggie weakly smiled, "It was all worth it. Where are the babies? I want to see them."

"Okay, I'll have the nanny bring them over."

To let Maggie rest well, the babies were in the next room. It was a suite, so even if the babies cried, they wouldn't disturb Maggie.

The nanny brought the babies over. Eleanor and Arya came too when they heard Maggie had woken up.

Dulce also quickly rushed to the hospital.

Maggie looked at the two babies, feeling warm inside. Her eyes welled up with tears, feeling that everything was worth it.

She didn't have the strength to hold the babies, so she could only look at them.

The two babies had just finished their formula and were very energetic, looking around with curious, clear eyes.

Maggie felt sorry for her children, and Arya felt sorry for her daughter.

Arya wiped her tears, "Maggie, you really scared me. It's good that you're awake. The good days are ahead."

"Sorry, Mom, for making you worry," Maggie forced a smile and saw Adalia standing next to Arya. She waved, "Adalia, come to Mommy."

Adalia walked over, smiled, and touched Maggie's hand, gesturing: Mommy, does it hurt?

"It doesn't hurt," Maggie shook her head and smiled gently. "Adalia, have you seen your little brother and sister? Look, these are your siblings. You need to get along well with them, okay?"

Maggie didn't say anything about Adalia having to take care of or give in to her younger siblings. All three were her children, and Adalia was still a child herself. She couldn't expect Adalia to always give in just because she was the older sister.

Adalia looked at her siblings, smiling. She wanted to reach out and touch them but remembered being stopped by Eleanor before, so she pulled her hand back.

Maggie didn't notice anything wrong with this small gesture, but Dulce and Arya knew why Adalia pulled her hand back.

Maggie thought Adalia was worried about hurting her tiny siblings and didn't dare to touch them. She smiled and encouraged, "You can touch your brother and sister's hands. It's okay. You were once this small too."
