Chapter 555 The Truth from a Few Years Ago

When Fiorello and Maggie divorced, Isabella was as delighted as she is now furious.

"What are you angry about this time?"

Frank came in and saw Isabella's terrifying expression, which made him shiver inside. "Isabella."

Hearing his voice, Isabella's anger slightly subsided. "Dad."

Frank walked over, sat down, and said earnestly, "What's past is past. There's a long road ahead. Being alive is more important than anything else. You still have your mom and dad."

Frank knew Isabella was hurting inside and hoped to guide her out of her hatred.

A person consumed by hatred has a heart more damaged than a ruined face.

"Dad, I can't get over it. Look at me. How can I face anyone?" Isabella's voice was also damaged, sounding harsh. She touched her face, tears of despair blurring her vision. "All those who used to flatter me are gone."

"Why do we need insincere people? Isabella, your mom and I will always be here for you. I hope you can let go of the resentment in your heart so you can be happy. Otherwise, you'll live in pain forever."

Frank earnestly tried to persuade her. His mindset was completely different from Olivia's; he didn't want Isabella to be overly competitive.

Frank held Isabella's hand and said, "I know how important appearance is to a girl, but there's something even more important than looks."

Isabella was curious. "What is it?"

"A confident and kind heart," Frank said. "If you have the right mindset, you can overcome any obstacle. I've asked a friend to find the best dermatologist for you. Even if your face can't be fully restored, it will be much better than it is now."

Frank was instilling hope for the future in Isabella.

Isabella took in some of his words and began reflecting on her past actions.

Taking the opportunity, Frank continued, "Daughter, you've always been excellent in my eyes, my pride. I believe you can understand and let go of your hatred, right?"

Isabella fell into deep thought and remained silent.

"What nonsense are you filling Isabella's head with?" Olivia arrived and, hearing Frank's words, strongly disagreed. "Isabella, don't listen to your dad. You're so good; why should others get all the good things? We can't give up."

Frank frowned in displeasure and angrily said, "Olivia, you've been competitive your whole life, and now you want our daughter to follow in your footsteps? Look at you. After all your fighting, what have you gained? Take Arya, for example. You've always tried to suppress her. Did you succeed? Arya never even cared. She focused on living her own life, and that's why she has a good life now."

To Olivia, this sounded like she was inferior to Arya in every way.

Unwilling to accept it, Olivia said, "I fought hard for this family. Arya's just lucky. No one can be lucky forever."

"Exactly, so things will change over time. The most important thing now is to heal Isabella."

"Isabella's situation is none of your concern," Olivia said angrily. "Get out. Not a single word you say is pleasant to hear."

Frank left in a huff.

Isabella, also irritated by the argument, said, "I want to go out for a walk."

Isabella's face was wrapped in bandages, hiding her ugly scars, which gave her a bit of courage to go out.

Hearing that Isabella wanted to go out, Olivia said, "I'll get a wheelchair to push you."

Isabella's tone was cold. "No need. I'll go out alone. My legs are fine; I can walk."

Olivia wanted to say something, but Isabella had already left.

Olivia bit her lip. She also knew about Fiorello and Maggie's upcoming wedding. It seemed Maggie was getting all the good things.

Isabella walked in the small park below the hospital and found a bench to sit on. She heard people talking mostly about Maggie and Fiorello's wedding.

Everyone was talking about it.

Maggie's luck made ninety-nine percent of women envious.

Isabella sat with her head down, occasionally seeing patients, family members, or doctors and nurses passing by.

At that moment, she overheard another conversation about Fiorello and Maggie.

"This Maggie is really lucky. I thought she and Mr. Flores were done for last time."

"Yeah, who would've thought there'd be such a twist."

"I heard Maggie and Mr. Flores got married shortly after they met last time."

"How is that possible? Maggie and Mr. Flores met six years ago. I saw it with my own eyes. They were passionately entangled in a private room. It was quite a scene."

They met six years ago?

Hearing this, Isabella suddenly looked up and grabbed the woman who had just spoken.
