Chapter 632 Finger Membrane Protection
Maggie asked excitedly, "How about it? Is it Jenny?"
Francis shook his head, "No, fingerprints don't lie. Everyone's fingerprints are unique. After comparison, that woman named Christina is not Jenny."
Maggie was very disappointed. Her intuition told her that the woman named Christina was very likely Jenny, but now, faced with the evidence, she realized she was overthinking it.
"How did that Christina know we knew each other?"
This was what puzzled Maggie the most.
Maggie didn't know about Jenny using the alias Christina to frame Holden. To be precise, she had only heard the name Christina from Fiorello and hadn't seen her at the wedding, so Maggie didn't recognize her.
Francis analyzed, "Maybe there were no other customers in the store just now, and I was walking towards you, so Christina assumed that."
This explanation made sense.
Maggie sat back down in disappointment and said, "I misunderstood."
"But you did remind me of something. I had also thought that Jenny might change her appearance, so we need to be even more careful in our investigation."
After meeting Maggie at the café, Jenny was a bit excited. She returned to the villa, took out the photos she had just taken, and studied them, thinking about how to prove the affair between Francis and Maggie.
If Adalia was indeed their child, a paternity test would be the best proof.
She couldn't rely on Kyle and Ivan, so she had to rely on herself.
At this moment, Ivan walked over and handed her something, "You need to change your fingerprint membrane. Remember, you must wear it at all times."
The fingerprint membrane Ivan gave Jenny was as thin as a cicada's wing and almost matched her skin color. It was custom-made for Jenny by someone Kyle had found.
Jenny's appearance had changed, but her fingerprints hadn't. If something went wrong, her fingerprints would be the best evidence to reveal her identity.
Jenny brought a basin of water with a special solution, and as she put her hand in, the membrane on her fingertips began to peel off.
Reluctantly, Jenny put on the new membrane and said, "This is such a hassle. That cop came to the door, and I ran into him just now, but he didn't recognize me. We don't need to be this cautious; no one knows I'm Jenny."
"Be careful." Ivan asked, "You ran into the cop again just now?"
"Yes, I ran into Francis." Jenny put on the membrane and checked it, "What is this made of? You can't even tell it's there, it's so thin."
Ivan said expressionlessly, "Dead people's skin."
These three words scared Jenny, and she felt instantly nauseous.
"Why are you giving me something made from dead people?" Jenny angrily wanted to take off the membrane, feeling uncomfortable at the thought of it being dead people's skin.
"If you want to die, go ahead and take it off." Ivan said coldly, "The cops have already come to the door, and you still think you're safe? The police could find you at any time. Also, I have to leave for a while, so take care of yourself."
"Where are you going? Ivan, you're not planning to abandon me because the cops are here, are you?" Jenny grabbed Ivan's arm, "No way, you have to take me with you if you leave."
"Kyle asked me to handle something. As long as you don't mess around, you'll be safe for now." Ivan handed Jenny a bank card, "Here's twenty thousand dollars, use it for now."
With that, Ivan walked out of the house and drove away.
Since escaping from the hospital, Jenny had been living with Ivan. Although Ivan was cold and not pleasant to talk to, he never bullied her, and living with him made her feel secure.
With Ivan suddenly gone, Jenny felt a bit empty inside. She looked at the membrane on her fingertips and obediently kept it on.
Jenny was figuring out how to do a paternity test for Adalia and Francis to expose the affair between Maggie and Francis and gather more evidence. Gregory sent her a message inviting her to dinner.
It had been a week since their last date, and Jenny thought she could get some information from Gregory, so she agreed.
Meanwhile, Fiorello, on his way to the police station, received a call from Brian.
"Fiorello, recently there have been a lot of beautiful women around Gregory. I just found out that Gregory has a date tonight."
"Okay, follow him," Fiorello said, "Make a record of every woman who appears around Gregory."
