Chapter 656 Confrontation, Blocking the Blade
Jenny stepped into the coffee shop and stood at the entrance. Brian, who had been lying in wait inside, had already locked his eyes on her.
As long as Jenny took a few more steps inside, towards Saskia disguised as Maggie, Brian could make his move and capture her.
Saskia, disguised as Maggie, kept her head down to confuse the target. She didn't dare to fully reveal her face, as getting too close would make it easy to spot the deception.
A side profile was the most effective way to confuse the target.
Jenny also locked her eyes on "Maggie," but just as she was about to continue walking towards "Maggie," she suddenly saw a familiar face and immediately stopped in her tracks.
Sitting at a table further inside the coffee shop was Ivan.
He was there for other reasons today, and running into Jenny was purely coincidental.
Seeing Jenny, Ivan frowned.
Jenny thought Ivan was sent by Kyle to protect her, which gave her a bit more courage.
Brian, who had been watching Jenny closely, tensed up when he saw her suddenly stop and prepared himself to prevent her from escaping.
An invisible tension filled the air.
Everything and everyone around seemed to enter a state of silent stillness. Jenny clutched the knife in her hand, her eyes filled with intense hatred as she stared at the seated "Maggie."
Saskia was sitting with her back to Jenny and didn't know Jenny had approached.
As Jenny got closer, Ivan noticed the knife in her hand and also saw "Maggie" sitting by the window. He immediately realized something was wrong.
From Ivan's angle, he couldn't tell that Saskia was a fake Maggie.
Jenny moved closer step by step. Ivan stood up, and Brian, who was hidden, also started moving towards them discreetly.
Brian's eyes were on Saskia when a waiter carrying coffee hurriedly bumped into him, causing the coffee cup to fall to the ground.
Jenny instinctively looked over and saw Brian. Her mind went blank for a moment. Seeing Brian coming towards her, she didn't run. She knew she couldn't escape, and with "Maggie" right in front of her, she didn't want to miss this opportunity.
Brian, realizing he had been spotted, quickly approached.
"Maggie."
Jenny stood behind Saskia and called out.
Hearing the call, Saskia turned around, and Jenny unhesitatingly stabbed the knife towards Saskia's stomach.
In a split second, the nearest Ivan stepped in, thinking Saskia was Maggie, and took the stab for her.
Jenny's knife stabbed into Ivan's waist.
Jenny was utterly shocked. "Ivan."
Wasn't Ivan here to protect her?
Why did he take the stab for Maggie?
Not Maggie.
What shocked Jenny even more was that when Saskia turned her head, she saw the real face and realized she had been deceived. This wasn't Maggie.
Saskia was also stunned by the sudden turn of events. She wasn't shocked by Jenny's stab but by a stranger stepping in to protect her.
Bright red blood instantly stained Ivan's waist.
Seeing someone injured, the coffee shop erupted into chaos, with customers fleeing in panic.
Jenny also tried to blend into the crowd and escape, but Brian arrived and grabbed her shoulder. "Jenny, where do you think you're going?"
In her panic, Jenny swung the knife at Brian. He dodged and knocked the knife out of her hand, kicking her several feet away.
Jenny panicked and shouted at Ivan, "Ivan, help me."
Jenny was still useful to Kyle, so Ivan, enduring the pain, had no choice but to fight Brian, blocking him.
Both were highly skilled, moving at incredible speed, each punch deadly.
Ivan fought recklessly, ignoring the wound on his waist.
Jenny took the opportunity to run out of the coffee shop. Brian shouted to Saskia, "Saskia, quick, don't let her escape."
Saskia snapped out of it and immediately chased after Jenny, spotting her in the crowd.
Ivan couldn't hesitate any longer and wanted to get away quickly. After a few moves, Brian recognized him as the person he had fought with last time in Sunshine Bay City.
Ivan grabbed a customer hiding under a table and pushed them towards Brian, using the distraction to leave the coffee shop. He jumped on a motorcycle parked outside and caught up with Jenny. "Quick, get on."
