Chapter 406 Kimberly Suspected Maggie's Child

Joseph quickly made up an excuse. "Eleanor, I just remembered I have a game with Frank. Gotta go now. You take Mom home."

Such a lame excuse, totally out of the blue.

Joseph didn't care if Eleanor bought it or not. He just left.

He was worried that if he was late and Gregory ran into Fiorello, it would be a mess.

"Joseph, Joseph," Eleanor called out, but he didn't stop. Standing at the ward door, she said, "Is a game that urgent? You said you had nothing to do today when we came."

Eleanor's gut told her something was off with Joseph.

Kimberly hadn't even had a chance to make Joseph trouble Maggie, and now Joseph was leaving. She was stunned for a couple of seconds.

Kimberly then turned her firepower towards Eleanor. "Eleanor, I don't know what you see in her..."

"Mom, I have something to do too. I'll leave first. You can take a cab or have the family driver pick you up," Eleanor said.

She wanted to follow Joseph and see what he was up to. She said goodbye to Kimberly and told Maggie, "Take care of yourself and Adalia. I'll come see you another day."

Then Eleanor left too.

Kimberly was completely at a loss. Both Joseph and Eleanor were unreliable.

Maggie was also a bit confused. She had just mentioned that Fiorello went to the Eagle Group, and now Joseph and Eleanor were in a hurry to leave.

Maggie exchanged a glance with Arya, neither knowing what was going on.

With everyone gone, Kimberly couldn't debate them alone.

Maggie called the Flores family driver to take Kimberly away.

Kimberly left very angrily, staring at Maggie with laser-like intensity before she left.

After leaving the hospital, Kimberly immediately arranged to meet Jenny at a coffee shop.

Jenny seemed like the only one who understood her.

As soon as they met, Kimberly started to complain, "Jenny, Maggie is driving me crazy. Fiorello is bewitched by that vixen, completely infatuated, and even helping to raise a child that's not his."

Kimberly, full of vigor, criticized Maggie harshly.

Jenny gently comforted her, "Kimberly, don't be angry. Maggie is very cunning. We need to take it slow. Now that she's pregnant, let her be arrogant for a while. Fiorello will understand eventually."

Kimberly anxiously slapped her leg. "By the time Fiorello understands, it will be too late."

"What can we do? Right now, Fiorello won't listen to anyone. He used to listen to you the most, but now even your words don't work," Jenny sighed.

These words were deliberately said for Kimberly to hear, implying that Maggie's presence was the reason Fiorello no longer listened to her. Maggie was the root cause, making Kimberly resent Maggie even more.

Kimberly gripped her cane tightly, a sharp glint in her cloudy eyes.

When she was younger, Kimberly had fought alongside her husband in the business world. It was only after Fiorello fully took over that she began to slowly retire.

"I will never let Maggie take over the Flores family's business," she snapped.

"Grandma, the Flores family's billion-dollar fortune is bound to attract envy. Someone like Maggie, who comes from such a background, won't easily let go of a rich man like Fiorello," Jenny suggested, "If she weren't pregnant, Fiorello wouldn't be so confused. It's really strange. She was said to be infertile before, so how did she get pregnant so quickly? She's been married to Fiorello for so long, and now she gets pregnant at this particular time."

Jenny's tone carried a hint of doubt and complaint, deliberately leading Kimberly to think deeper.

It didn't matter how Maggie's baby came to be or whose it was. What mattered was arousing doubt in Kimberly's mind. Once that idea appeared, it would eventually sprout and grow uncontrollably.

Listening to Jenny, Kimberly indeed began to doubt the legitimacy of Maggie's baby.

The Flores family's bloodline must not be tainted.
