Chapter 313 Steal the Bone Marrow
Following Maggie's instructions, Kevin immediately said upon hearing Ashley's urging, "We've got her. Coming down right away."
"Hurry up. Don't let anyone find out," Ashley reminded over the phone.
"Okay, okay," Kevin responded.
Maggie hung up directly.
Kevin glanced at Maggie and Holden with a terrified look. "I've done everything you said. Can you let us go now?"
Matthew said, "We didn't get any money, and we didn't hurt anyone. We've done everything you asked. Can you let us go now?"
"No rush. There's one more thing you two need to do." Maggie stood up and a new idea formed in her mind.
Holden asked, "Maggie, what do you want to do next?"
A cold glint flashed in Maggie's eyes. She said, "I want to see what Ashley is really up to. How can we miss this evidence of her crime? Holden, wrap Matthew in a bedsheet, you and Kevin carry him down and take him to the back. Go big or go home."
Holden immediately understood Maggie's intention.
If they could prove that Ashley had hired people to kidnap Maggie with ill intentions, Ashley would be in serious trouble.
They acted immediately.
Holden picked up the anesthetic he had just found on the two brothers and grinned at them. "Sorry."
With that, Holden injected Matthew with the anesthetic, leaving only Kevin conscious.
Holden warned, "If you don't want to go to jail, cooperate with me. I'm going to untie the bedsheet now. Then you'll put your clothes on and help carry Matthew down."
Kevin nodded quickly. "Okay, I promise to cooperate."
Maggie waited at the door while Holden untied the bedsheet. Kevin put on his clothes, and the two of them carried Matthew out together.
Matthew was tightly wrapped in the bedsheet, his face completely hidden. Holden put on a mask and wore Matthew's jacket. With the dim ligh in the back, it was hard to notice anything unusual.
Maggie hid in the back. A van was indeed waiting in the alley. Ashley was there too.
Maggie hid around the corner and secretly took out her phone to record a video.
Seeing Kevin carrying someone down, Ashley initially wanted to lift the bedsheet to check if it was Maggie. Holden quickly put the person in the van, saying, "I just saw hotel security patrolling."
Hearing this, Ashley didn't check and urged, "Hurry up and get in the car. Take her to Pineview Terrace Virtue Health Clinic. I promise you'll be paid fairly once you drop her off."
With that, Ashley got into a nearby Mercedes.
Ashley refused to sit in the cargo van.
Kevin followed Holden into the van. He was a bit nervous. "Are we really going?"
Holden kicked Kevin and said, "Drive. Let's go to Virtue Health Clinic and see what Ashley is up to."
Kevin started the van, following Ashley's car to the clinic.
Maggie didn't follow them. She left the rest to Holden.
After more than half an hour, the cars arrived at Virtue Health Clinic. Ashley knocked on the door, and it opened. A middle-aged man said, "Come in quickly. Bring her inside."
Ashley nodded, turned back, and signaled to the people in the van to come in.
Holden gave Kevin a look, and the two of them carried the still-anesthetized Matthew inside.
At Ashley's direction, they placed him on a makeshift bed at the back of the clinic.
Since he entered the clinic, Holden had been secretly recording.
Ashley and the middle-aged man talked in the outer room, separated by a half-drawn curtain.
Ashley urgently instructed the middle-aged man, "I'm counting on you for this. Melissa is running out of time. We need to do the bone marrow transplant as soon as possible. Just draw the bone marrow from that wretched girl inside and do the matching quickly. If it works, schedule the surgery immediately."
"Don't worry. No problem," the man replied.
