Chapter 647 Meeting with Jenny
Maggie noticed it but remained calm on the surface.
She hadn't touched the medicine bottle yet when Jenny, very nervous, tightened the cap and said, "It's okay, if it can't be used, we can just buy another one. It's not expensive. Did you hurt your stomach?"
"No." Maggie shook her head and smiled, glancing at the medicine bottle and silently noting the name of the medicine in her mind.
Maggie washed her hands and said, "I have to go now."
"Maggie, since we ran into each other, let's sit down for a bit," Jenny tried to keep Maggie, smiling, "It's fate that we met."
"My husband is waiting outside," Maggie said. "How about this, I'll bring him in."
As soon as she heard that Fiorello was there, Jenny didn't dare to meet him. Although she wasn't Jenny now, she was Christina, and she had previously deceived Holden. Fiorello had seen her before, and if he saw her now, he might kill her.
Jenny pretended to be regretful and said, "Then forget it, I don't want to disturb you. Let's meet another day. I'll just touch up my makeup."
"Okay." Maggie didn't say much, holding her waist as she left. When she reached the door, she turned to look at Jenny again.
Jenny looked at Maggie through the mirror, and when she saw Maggie looking over, she quickly smiled.
Maggie smiled back and then left.
Fiorello was waiting outside. When he saw her come out, he said, "I'll take you home first, then I'll head to the office."
"Okay." Maggie had gotten up early, and after the prenatal check-up, she was a bit tired.
Fiorello took her home, and Maggie immediately found Dylan, told him the name of the medicine she saw, and asked, "What is this medicine for?"
"It's just for washing hands, with anti-itch and antibacterial effects," Dylan said. "It also has another function, which is to separate things that are hard to remove from the hands."
"Separate?" Maggie thought of Christina's peeling fingertips, but her hands were very fair and well-maintained, not the kind that would peel.
Moreover, normal people's fingertips don't peel. Could it be that Christina had something else on her fingertips?
Maggie suddenly thought of a suspense movie she had watched out of boredom a few days ago. There was a scene where the killer wore finger sleeves to erase fingerprints and avoid leaving traces during the crime.
When the killer was caught and interrogated, the fingerprints didn't match, and it was later discovered that the killer had been wearing finger sleeves, so the fingerprints left behind weren't his own.
Maggie kept thinking about this and began to suspect Christina, whom she had met at the café.
There can't be so many coincidences in the world. Too many coincidences mean there's a problem.
Maggie suddenly had a bold idea. She asked Dylan for that kind of solution and then texted Christina to meet for coffee.
Jenny, who was a bit disappointed after returning from the hospital, having missed another good opportunity, received Maggie's invitation for coffee. Instantly, she thought of various plans to kill Maggie.
Jenny replied: [Sure, Maggie, you pick the place, and I'll come over.]
Maggie picked a coffee place and had the driver take her there.
When she was leaving, Arya was worried and wanted to go with her.
Maggie didn't let Arya come along.
At the location, Maggie ordered three coffees and sat down to wait.
Around 2:10 PM, Jenny arrived. Maggie greeted her warmly, "Christina, over here. I hope I'm not bothering you. Being pregnant, I don't know where to go or what to do. I'm cooped up at home every day, so I thought I'd ask you out for some fresh air."
"I'd love that. I have nothing to do either, Maggie, don't be so polite with me," Jenny said, and she wasn't lying. She was indeed eager for Maggie to find her.
Jenny noticed three pieces of cake on the table and felt a bit uneasy, afraid of running into someone she feared. She asked, "Maggie, is there someone else coming?"
Maggie smiled and said, "Yes, a friend of mine will be here soon. You don't mind, do you? Have a seat first."
