Chapter 419 Kimberly Took Action
The baby's movements made them even more excited for the birth.
Fiorello had the nursery all set up with top-notch toys, clothes, and a crib.
During her pregnancy, Maggie's skin glowed, and she looked more serene and feminine.
Fiorello waited until Maggie fell asleep, then went to the living room to smoke.
He was really worried about the last two months; the closer it got, the more careful he had to be.
The plan was for the baby to stay in Maggie's womb for seven months, but Maggie wanted to try for eight months before a C-section.
The longer the baby stayed in, the better its immune system and development.
Fiorello understood Maggie's approach; moms always want the best for their kids.
Maggie had gained fifteen pounds and often had back pain but didn't mention it, thinking Fiorello wouldn't notice.
As the baby grew, space in the womb got tighter, adding more strain on Maggie.
Fiorello smoked one cigarette and was about to light another when Joseph came out in his pajamas, looking messy.
Joseph casually asked, "Fiorello, why are you up so late? You're about to be a dad, why the long face?"
Men only smoked when something was on their mind.
Joseph also planned to smoke a couple of cigarettes to relax.
"Just thinking about some project stuff," Fiorello replied, "Mom still hasn't let you into the room?"
"Your mom is so stubborn, can't reason with her," Joseph said, looking down.
Eleanor still wouldn't let him sleep in the room; they'd been in separate rooms for months.
He went to let Eleanor scold him, but she just ignored him. He got anxious and raised his voice, but Eleanor still wouldn't talk to him.
Joseph lit a cigarette and sighed, "Your mom never wants to forgive me. She tortures me with her indifference. What does she want? Maggie has a daughter, and she can accept that, the whole family can accept that, but I can't have an illegitimate child."
As soon as he said this, Joseph regretted it. He looked at Fiorello's reaction and said, "Fiorello, I'm not saying Maggie is bad."
Fiorello stood up, his tone cold. "I'm going back to the room. Dad, you should get some rest too."
Joseph just wanted someone to talk to and complain to, but he ended up angering Fiorello again.
Joseph wanted to say something but just waved his hand, signaling Fiorello to go rest.
The next day.
Maggie had gotten used to sleeping in late these past few months. She forgot she was at the Flores Mansion and didn't wake up until almost ten.
Fiorello had already gone to work, and Maggie hurriedly got up and went downstairs.
Kimberly was watching TV in the living room. Seeing Maggie, she smiled and asked, "Maggie, you're awake. Did you sleep well last night?"
Kimberly asked this, but in her heart, she was cursing her as a vixen.
"Good morning, Kimberly," Maggie said politely, "I slept very well last night."
Kimberly couldn't help but say, "It's almost noon."
Maggie immediately felt embarrassed. Eleanor came in from outside, smiling. "Maggie, you're up. Fiorello told me not to wake you, to let you sleep more. The food is kept warm in the kitchen. I'll have Madison bring it out for you."
Maggie was indeed hungry. "Thank you, Eleanor."
Seeing Maggie go to the dining room to eat, Kimberly immediately got up and went back to her room. She took out a packet of medicine from her drawer.
Kimberly had prepared this long ago. After she found evidence of Maggie cheating on Fiorello, she bought the medicine, planning to kill the baby in Maggie's womb. She couldn't let Maggie give birth to the child in the Flores family.
