Chapter 295 Escape

The intoxication from the alcohol, combined with the accumulated resentment over time, rendered Farrell deaf to Maggie's words.

As Maggie struggled, Farrell grew more excited, his heart filled with ruthlessness as he forcefully removed Maggie's coat.

Maggie panicked, driven by fear; she cursed loudly, "Farrell, you're a coward. You don't dare to confront those who truly wronged you. Because I'm a woman, you bully me. You're despicable; you deserve to be deceived."

Maggie, no longer holding back, kicked and cursed, "Have you ever thought about why you were deceived? It's because you're stupid. You know they tricked you, yet you compromise again and again. It's your incompetence and weakness. You're afraid of them in your heart. You don't dare to confront them, so you vent your anger on me."

Every word Maggie uttered was sharp, like a dagger piercing Farrell's pride, striking at his sore spot.

Maggie was right; he didn't dare to truly break with those people. In the barbershop, he was afraid. Even after being deceived by dating websites several times, he didn't resist.

Because Maggie was a weak woman, he could control her, and he vented all his resentment on her.

"It's not like that," Farrell roared, unable to face his own cowardice. Using harsh words to cover his weakness, he said, "You scammers are despicable; you deserve it."

Maggie shouted back, "I told you I never deceived you. I didn't even know about the dating website meeting. I'm really glad it wasn't you who met me back then, or I would regret it. How could I have met someone like you?"

Farrell, maddened, yelled, "You're still lying; you're a scammer."

Bound hand and foot, Maggie couldn't break free. Seeing Farrell tearing at her pants, despair overwhelmed her.

She had never felt such hopelessness before. No matter how she cried for help, no one came.

She recalled the time David bullied her, and in that moment, she felt a deep unwillingness. Why was she always the one being bullied?

Perhaps, as she had just told Farrell, it was because of her weakness, because in others' eyes, she was too easy to bully.

As Farrell's mouth approached, Maggie, with a resolve to perish together, fiercely headbutted him.

Farrell's nose broke instantly, blood gushing out. Seizing the opportunity, Maggiekicked Farrell away, freeing herself from his grip and rolling off the bed.

Her feet were bound, preventing her from walking, so she hopped to the door. Though her wrists were tied, she could still manage to open the door.

In those few seconds, from breaking free to opening the door, Maggie felt as if she were racing against death.

Seeing Farrell getting up, she quickly opened the door and locked it behind her.

Unable to free herself from the rope binding her legs, she hopped away in a state of fear, with her disheveled appearance being the least of her concerns.

For she heard Farrell opening the door and giving chase.

Maggie hopped to the stairway but, in her terror, missed a step.

The expected pain didn't come; instead, she fell into a warm and familiar embrace.

Looking up, she saw a face that made her tears uncontrollable. Fiorello held her close. "I'm sorry, darling, I'm late."

Upon learning of Maggie's whereabouts, Fiorello had rushed over as quickly as possible.

Seeing Maggie disheveled and bound, his heart ached, and fury burned within him, a murderous glint flashing in his deep eyes.

Ignoring Fiorello, Farrell, clouded by anger and alcohol, sneered, "You got here fast."

Holding Maggie, Fiorello coldly ordered Brian behind him, "Cut off both his hands."
