Chapter 331 The Secret of Infertility
No wonder Isabella reacted this way; anyone in her shoes wouldn't believe it either.
Maggie grinned and said, "I'm not kidding. Fiorello hid it so well. I just found out myself."
Isabella struggled to process the news.
A guy handsome and kind like Fiorello was already rare, and he now turned out to be a billionaire too.
Looking at Maggie, Isabella felt more than just envy. Her own eight-year marriage was a disaster, while Maggie had snagged a rich guy.
She had thought partnering with Maggie would bring them closer and help out with the finance, but it seemed the money meant nothing to the Flores family.
Isabella's real goal was to get closer to Fiorello. By bringing Maggie into the business, she hoped to impress him. Maggie's words made Isabella realize how far she was from her goal.
"Isabella?" Maggie waved her hand in front of her. "I appreciate your kindness. If you need anything, just let me know. I'll help if I can."
Isabella's offer moved Maggie deeply. She didn't know Isabella's real goal was Fiorello, that Isabella was trying to win him over.
Isabella awkwardly said, "Alright, let's order. Maybe we could call Fiorello to join us for dinner."
Maggie said, "I texted him. He's busy, but he'll come to pick me up later."
"Okay." The thought of seeing Fiorello later brought a hint of joy to Isabella's heart.
Isabella knew she shouldn't be thinking about Fiorello, but she couldn't help herself.
Because of Fiorello, Isabella found James even more repulsive now. She was more eager than ever to divorce James, no matter the cost.
Isabella ordered a few dishes, and they chatted while eating.
Maggie asked, "Isabella, what are your plans for the divorce?"
"Let's not talk about that today. Even if you don't invest in the coffee shop, you can still help me with ideas. You're into design, so maybe you can help with the renovation plan or the name of the coffee shop. I don't know much about those things."
Isabella was excited about the coffee shop opening. She wanted to be independent and start a business. She realized that to attract someone like Fiorello, she needed to become more outstanding herself.
"Alright, I'll think about it when I get back." Maggie didn't respond immediately.
They ate for about an hour when Maggie got a call from Fiorello, who was already waiting at the restaurant entrance.
Maggie said, "Isabella, he's here to pick me up. I'll head out now."
"Okay, I'll settle the bill." Isabella paid and went downstairs with Maggie.
Now that Fiorello's identity was out, he naturally didn't drive the Chevrolet anymore but a Rolls-Royce.
The Rolls-Royce parked at the entrance, drawing the attention of many passersby.
Brian was in the driver's seat, and Fiorello was in the back. When Fiorello saw Maggie, he got out to open the door for her.
The moment Fiorello got out, Isabella's gaze was instantly drawn to him.
No matter how many times she saw him, Fiorello always amazed her, making her heart flutter.
"Honey, let's go home." Fiorello walked to Maggie's side and held her hand.
Maggie blushed and said to Isabella, "Isabella, we'll head out first."
"Okay." Isabella snapped out of her daydream, worried her thoughts might show, and quickly looked away.
Fiorello helped Maggie into the car, and even after it drove off, Isabella stood there, lost in thought.
Fiorello glanced in the rearview mirror, then turned to Maggie. "What did Isabella want to see you about today?"
"She wants to open a coffee shop and asked me to invest," Maggie said cheerfully. "Isabella didn't know your identity and just wanted to help us out."
Fiorello nodded. "Isabella seems nice. She is grateful."
"We didn't get along well before, but after her marriage troubles, we've gotten closer. It feels good." Maggie held Fiorello's hand. "Are we going back to Cityhomes West today?"
"Yeah, we're heading back to Cityhomes West."
When the Rolls-Royce pulled into the community, the security guards at the entrance took a few extra glances.
Maggie didn't go to the underground parking lot and unexpectedly ran into Alan.
Alan was holding his young son. Seeing Maggie, he casually asked, "Ms. Miller, how's Adalia?"
Alan had been taking care of the child alone and looked much more haggard. Susan would need a few more days to get out of the police station.
Maggie said, "Adalia is doing well."
"That's good." Alan smiled and left with his package.
Maggie felt a bit sympathetic watching Alan carry the child.
Maggie had a soft spot: if someone was kind to her or seemed pitiful, she couldn't help but feel soft-hearted.
In the following days, Maggie's life was relatively peaceful. She was busy with work, taking Adalia to school, and spending time playing parent-child games with her after work.
Mark seemed to have quieted down, with no more calls coming in.
Arya's life also returned to normal, helping with household chores, taking Adalia to and from school, and grocery shopping and cooking.
However, Fiorello's days were not as easy.
Eleanor brought medicine to Fiorello at the office every day.
Fiorello had to take the medicine every day, while Holden watched him with amusement.
Knowing that Fiorello didn't want to take the medicine, Eleanor stayed to watch him take it before leaving.
Fiorello didn't dare to tell his parents about Maggie's infertility, so he had to bear it all himself.
Once, Benjamin came to see him and, smelling the medicine on him, teased, "You're not even middle-aged yet, and you're already relying on supplements?"
Fiorello pretended to kick him. "Get lost."
Holden laughed on the side. "Benjamin, don't provoke Fiorello. He's been irritable lately."
Fiorello picked up the documents on the table and ignored the two, heading to the conference room.
There was an important meeting today.
As soon as Fiorello left, Benjamin asked, "Why is Fiorello taking medicine?"
They had been friends for many years, so Holden said directly, "It's medicine my mom found to help him have kids."
Hearing this, Benjamin was shocked. "Fiorello really can't have kids?"
"He can't have kids, but it's not because of a dysfunction. Benjamin, don't look at him with that look."
Benjamin blurted out, "That's impossible. Fiorello is fine. We had a physical together earlier this year, and everything was normal ab."
"Fiorello said it himself." Holden realized something was wrong, and his expression turned serious. "Benjamin, are you serious?"
