Chapter 388 Emily's Plan

Hearing Arya was taking Adalia along, Emily felt uneasy again but kept quiet.

Adalia came out, and Arya took the kids downstairs.

Adalia wore a light blue Lottari dress and a cute hair accessory, looking adorable. Neighbors complimented her.

Hearing the praise, Emily felt jealous because no one complimented her.

Arya took the kids to the supermarket, unaware that Susan was watching.

Susan had been eyeing Adalia. Maggie was moving tomorrow, and today was her last chance.

Susan and Alan planned to take Adalia, hoping Tommy might return.

Susan stared at Adalia, who looked like a princess. Her clothes alone cost about ten thousand dollars. Adalia used to be skinny and less attractive.

Now she seemed like a different person.

In the supermarket, Arya let Emily and Adalia choose toys, telling them to pick whatever they liked.

Emily chose the most expensive and biggest ones.

Adalia didn't take anything. When Arya asked, she said, "I have enough toys."

Arya smiled and said, "Then pick something you like to eat."

Adalia bought lollipops.

Emily said, "Childish, you're too old for lollipops."

Emily wasn't polite; she filled the cart with snacks and toys.

Maggie woke up from a nap and found the house quiet. Thinking Arya had taken the kids out, she started sketching designs.

Even at home, Maggie worked on design sketches. Doing nothing bored her.

After a while, Dulce called. "Maggie, what are you doing? It's Saturday. Isn't Fiorello home?"

Maggie laughed, "I'm sketching. Fiorello had something to do and went out."

"Fiorello earns money by the minute; of course, he's busy," Dulce said. "I have some free time, so I called to chat."

Maggie rubbed her temples, "With two kids at home, it's hard to find peace. I'm not bored."

"Two kids?" Dulce asked, "Where did the second one come from?"

"Emily came over last night," Maggie said. "This morning, she and Adalia fought over toys. I'm worried they'll fight often. I have to be ready to play referee."

"Is Emily staying with you now? It's not even confirmed yet," Dulce said. "What if it's a mistake?"

"She came over at night; I couldn't send her away," Maggie said. "She'll stay for now, and we'll see after the results."

Dulce asked, "What does Fiorello think?"

Thinking of Fiorello's reaction, Maggie felt guilty. "Dulce, I'm really conflicted. Bringing the kid back is unfair to Fiorello. Not bringing her back, I feel I owe the kid. I feel like whatever I do is wrong."

"I understand," Dulce said. "Don't overthink it. Take care of yourself."

"Okay."

During the call, Arya returned with the kids.

Maggie said, "My mom and the kids are back. I'll talk to you later."

She hung up and went to the living room.

Arya carried a lot of bags, and Emily helped. Adalia wasn't carrying anything.

Actually, Adalia had been helping Arya carry things on the way, but Emily took over at the door.

Emily, carrying two bags of snacks, said, "Mom, I picked these for you."

"Thank you, Emily. You're so thoughtful," Maggie felt gratified. It seemed her education was effective.

Maggie then asked Adalia, "What did you buy, Adalia?"

"I bought lollipops," Adalia said, showing them to Maggie.

Arya said, "Adalia picked lollipops after a long time of consideration. She didn't want anything expensive."

Maggie laughed, "Adalia is a frugal and good child."

Hearing Maggie praise Adalia, Emily muttered, "Hypocrite."

Emily thought Adalia only refrained from buying expensive things to please Maggie and Arya.

Wherever Adalia was, the adults only paid attention to her and praised her.

Emily wanted to drive Adalia away and had a plan in mind.
