Chapter 62 Envisioning a Shared Future

Maggie's lips curled into a smile, a reflection of the warmth that had blossomed in their relationship since their shared movie night.

"Then this set it is," she declared.

With the chosen jeans and shirt in hand, Maggie retreated into the house to change. Meanwhile, Fiorello waited patiently in the living room, sending Maggie's measurements to an international designer to commission a few custom outfits for her.

Fiorello's wardrobe was entirely bespoke, devoid of ostentatious brand logos. To the uninitiated, the value of his attire would remain an enigma.

After dispatching the message, Fiorello appended a few specifications - the outfits must be stylish and appealing, yet not overly revealing.

Once the details were finalized, Fiorello also ordered a set of couple's pajamas , requesting them to be ready by week's end.

The international fashion designer on the receiving end of Fiorello's requests was intrigued. She had been catering to Fiorello's sartorial needs for years, and this was the first time he had requested women's clothing. Could it be that he had a girlfriend now?

Not daring to delay, she promptly responded, "Okay."

Meanwhile, Maggie remained oblivious to these developments. By the time she emerged, freshly changed, Fiorello had already put his phone away.

"Do I look good?" Maggie inquired.

Fiorello's gaze traveled over Maggie, and he instantly regretted his choice of attire for her. The snug jeans accentuated Maggie's slender legs, not overly thin but perfectly proportioned, with just the right amount of flesh. The jeans did not conceal her beauty but rather amplified her allure. The white shirt, despite being fully buttoned, was undeniably enticing. Her exquisite fair face, lightly made up, was breathtaking.

"Looks good," Fiorello admitted, wishing he could keep Maggie hidden at home, her beauty reserved solely for his eyes.

"Then let's go. It's the first day, and being late is impolite," Maggie urged.

Maggie changed into a pair of high heels, which lent an added grace to her demeanor. Together, they descended to the underground parking lot and set off for the office of the jewelry company under Visionary Futures Group.

During the drive, Fiorello broached a topic, "When I save up enough money, you won't have to work so hard outside anymore. I'll let you be a full-time housewife, do some beauty treatments, and go shopping with friends. My money will be enough to support the family."

Maggie was quick to shake her head, "No, that won't do. Women must be economically independent. Even if they have a man to rely on, they cannot lose their ability to survive and discard their own self-worth. That is the bottom line."

Having been independent since her youth, Maggie couldn't fathom relinquishing her autonomy to become a full-time housewife at Fiorello's behest. Besides, she was well aware that a man's promises often had an expiration date, usually confined to the honeymoon period. No matter where her relationship with Fiorello led, she was determined not to lose herself.

Recognizing his misstep, Fiorello reached out to hold Maggie's hand, "Whatever you choose to do, I will support you."

If she didn't wish to be the woman behind a man, he would be her support, allowing her to soar freely. He would always be her pillar.

Maggie smiled, "Like you said, we still need to buy a house. It's too hard for you to earn money alone. Dulcinea also mentioned that if we have children in the future, the expenses will be even greater..."

Maggie's words trailed off, realizing she might have been too hasty in bringing up the prospect of children. Fiorello hadn't fully expressed his stance yet. However, unbeknownst to her, Maggie's plans for their future brought Fiorello immense joy.

From being distant yet respectful, not needed, to now including him in her future plans, such a change in Maggie showed that she had feelings for him.

With a smile playing on his lips, he asked Maggie, "Maggie, do you prefer boys or girls?"

Maggie understood that her response would alter the dynamics of their relationship. The topic of children might soon become a reality. She had just started a new job, would trying to conceive lead to discrimination in the company? After all, who would willingly hire a pregnant woman in the current climate?

After a moment's thought, Maggie replied, "I like girls. I can tie their hair into small braids, and dress them in pink princess dresses. I will design unique accessories for her and make her look beautiful."

Fiorello nodded in agreement, "I also like girls."

Soon, they arrived at the company building, which was not Visionary Futures Group. Fiorello could only drop her off at the entrance.

"Maggie, I'll pick you up after work."

"Sure." Maggie smiled and said, "Drive safely."

Maggie watched Fiorello drive away before turning to enter the company. As soon as she stepped inside, her phone rang with a call from an unknown number.

"Maggie, you ruined everything for me, and now I'll ruin you too."

The voice on the other end was Samwise's, brimming with malice.
