Chapter 510 Unreasonable Design

Maggie thought WhatsApp's design was a total mess, not user-friendly at all.

The message that had been retracted was clearly not meant to be seen by the other person, but the system still notified them that a message had been retracted.

Right now, Maggie could only hope Fiorello didn't see the message she just sent and didn't notice the retraction notification.

It was super embarrassing.

Maggie just wanted to vent to Fiorello and blow off some steam. Since he had blocked her, he wouldn't know what she sent anyway. She treated the chat app like a diary, a place to spill any secret.

Now, that place didn't feel safe anymore.

Maggie felt uneasy, her heart in knots. Just then, her phone dinged with a WhatsApp notification.

Maggie's heart skipped a beat with the notification sound. Her worst fear had come true.

Sure enough, it was a message from Fiorello.

Seeing his message, Maggie's heart seemed to come alive, her heart skipped a beat, and her life was filled with color again.

For the past few months, she had no contact with him at all. She could only get news about him through the media. They had gone back to their own worlds, with no overlap.

Now, his message had reconnected them.

He only sent a brief message, but it made her eyes well up with tears, her eyelashes moist.

Fiorello: [I'm downstairs.]

Maggie immediately ran to the window facing the street. Under the streetlight, Fiorello's car was indeed parked by the roadside.

She couldn't help but think, 'Didn't he promise Joseph that he wouldn't come to see me again? Why is he here?'

Maggie wanted to rush down to see him but was too afraid to go.

She was worried about Joseph's retaliation. She didn't want her newly regained peaceful life to be disrupted. Arya was very old and couldn't withstand any turmoil, and Adalia was still young.

But in the end, Maggie went out. She didn't have time to change her shoes or clothes. She ran downstairs in her fuzzy slippers and pajamas, running towards the door, running towards him.

The street was very quiet in the early morning, with no cars or pedestrians.

Maggie stopped a few feet away from the car, gazing at him through the car window.

Their eyes met, and time seemed to stand still at that moment.

March in Cyberland was still very cold, especially at night.

Fiorello quickly got out of the car and swiftly took off his coat to wrap it around her. "Why did you come down without even wearing a coat?"

His tone was reproachful, but the concern and worry were unmistakable.

She looked at him. It had been a long time since she had seen him up close, and a surge of joy welled up in her heart.

No matter how much time passed, the only person who could make her heart skip a beat was him.

Maggie said, "I wanted to see you as soon as possible. I was afraid you'd leave. I was scared."

He suddenly embraced her, months of longing flooding in like a tide at that moment.

He said, "I've always been here."

Maggie wanted to cry. It felt like a dream. She was in his arms, smelling his scent, the one she had longed for.

Maggie's voice choked. "I thought I'd never have the chance to be held by you again in this lifetime."

Under the orange streetlight, a gust of wind blew, and leaves fell gently. The two of them held each other tightly, wishing they could merge into each other's bones and never be separated.

Although they were divorced, their feelings for each other had never wavered. Their hearts had always been together.

At that moment, Fiorello's heart was also filled. He forgot all promises; as long as he had her, he didn't need anything else.

Just then, a flash of white light appeared. Fiorello frowned and looked sharply towards the bushes not far away. He knew someone was there, secretly taking photos of them.

It was Joseph's people. For the past few months, Joseph had been secretly sending people to monitor him, just to prevent him from seeing Maggie.

Fiorello let go of Maggie and took her hand. "Let's get in the car."
