Chapter 335 Fiorello's Grandma
Maggie struggled to keep her cool, the nerves refusing to budge. Surveying the grand banquet hall, she shook her head in disbelief. "Dulce, I've only ever seen stuff like this on TV. All these big-shot business folks in one spot—it's surreal. You usually just hear about them, but now they're right here."
Dulce nodded, giving Maggie's shoulder a squeeze. "I'm psyched to see how this swanky banquet unfolds. Once Fiorello puts you in the spotlight, bam—officially Mrs. Fiores."
Maggie nodded, agreeing with Dulce's opinion..
As they conversed, Maggie caught sight on the livestream of Eleanor and Joseph moving in the same direction.
"Hey, is someone major arriving?" Maggie inquired.
The livestream switched to the entrance, showing Holden helping an elderly lady inside.
The lady had neatly styled white hair, wore a dark evening dress with a shawl, had exquisite makeup, and looked energetic, hinting she had been a beauty in her youth.
"Who is this elderly lady?" Dulce asked.
Seeing Fiorello walking towards her and Eleanor and Joseph being very respectful, Maggie remembered. "She must be Fiorello's grandmother, Kimberly Phillips. Fiorello mentioned she’s been living in a retirement home and hasn't been back to Cyberland for years, not even managing the Flores family affairs. Maybe she came because it's the company's anniversary."
Dulce said, "She looks tough; her gaze is sharp, and she doesn't seem easy to talk to."
From the livestream, Maggie saw Eleanor being very cautious around Kimberly.
In the banquet hall.
Arya was with Eleanor when Kimberly noticed them and asked, "Who is this?"
Eleanor smiled and introduced them, "This is your granddaughter-in-law Maggie's mother, Arya. This is my mother-in-law."
Hearing it was Fiorello's grandmother, Arya quickly greeted her, "Hello, Mrs. Flores."
Kimberly glanced at Arya without a word, then looked at Fiorello. "Fiorello, come help me; my legs can't walk now."
"Okay." Fiorello showed great respect to Kimberly.
He had spent a lot of time with his grandmother when he was young, and they had a deep bond.
Fiorello helped Kimberly to her seat. Noticing she didn't seem to like Arya, he asked, "Grandma, why did you decide to come back today? If I had known, I would have picked you up myself."
"I wanted to surprise you." Kimberly affectionately held Fiorello's hand and smiled. "You look so handsome today. There are so many girls here tonight. If you fancy any, let me know, and I'll introduce them to you."
Fiorello stood as Kimberly's pride, his striking presence filling her with immense pride.
Perplexed, Fiorello furrowed his brow and asked, "Grandma, did you forget? I've already tied the knot. You've got a granddaughter-in-law, and you'll meet her soon enough."
"Married? Since when?" Kimberly's confusion deepened. "How did I miss this?"
Approaching, Holden intervened, "Grandma, Fiorello's a married man now. Maggie's a real looker; you'll adore her, trust me."
Kimberly cut in sternly, "Selecting a life partner isn't solely about looks. Consider virtues, family background, and social standing. Beauty isn't the whole package." She scolded Holden, "You should know better at your age. Don't feed me tales. I can tell if Fiorello's taken or not."
Holden, sensing Kimberly's disbelief, reiterated, "Grandma, Fiorello is genuinely married."
Sidling up to Fiorello, Holden whispered, "Fiorello, Grandma seems mixed up."
Kimberly wasn't confused; Fiorello comprehended. She simply wasn't pleased with Maggie.
