Chapter 522 Mark Had a Stroke
After a moment of shock, Arya asked, "Is she in danger?"
Back in the day, Arya would've immediately called Olivia to check on her.
But ever since that fallout at Olivia's last birthday, their families had stopped talking.
Isabella had purposely delayed, causing Maggie to miss her treatment, and Maggie hadn't told Arya. If she had, Arya might've confronted Isabella.
Maggie said, "I don't know. Dulce told me James and Isabella had a fight outside the coffee shop. James threw acid on Isabella. One's in the hospital, the other's in jail."
Arya sighed, "It's so sad they've become enemies after all these years of marriage."
When they were in love, they were all about happiness.
Neither of them could've seen this coming.
Now, it was just mutual destruction.
Arya remembered something and said, "Hey Maggie, your dad hasn't called this month. Has he reached out to you? When he first got back to London, he'd call me every few days, but nothing this month."
Maggie said, "Nope, when did he last call you?"
"On the fifteenth of last month. It's almost the end of this month, and he hasn't called once. I'm worried something might've happened to him."
Maggie said, "Mom, don't stress. He might be busy with work or maybe he thinks we aren't useful to him anymore and can't be bothered to contact us. This isn't the first time he's done this."
"This time feels different. I can sense it. I called him, but his phone's off. I've tried several times." Arya said, worried, "I was thinking you could ask someone to find out where he is and what he's up to."
Arya wanted Maggie to ask Fiorello since they were all in business and it would be easier to inquire.
Maggie got it and said, "Okay, I'll make a call in a bit."
"Alright, I'll go make dinner. Adalia, remember to do your homework." Arya had no plans to visit Isabella in the hospital and headed straight to the kitchen to cook.
Maggie said to Adalia, "Mommy's gonna call your Dad. You go to your room and do your homework. I'll check it later."
"Okay," Adalia said sweetly, "Mommy, tell Daddy I miss him."
Maggie smiled, "I will, for sure."
Adalia happily went to her room, and Maggie went to the bedroom to call Fiorello.
No matter how busy Fiorello was, he'd always answer Maggie's calls.
Maggie subtly asked Fiorello to help find out about Mark's recent situation within their circle.
Finding out about someone was a piece of cake for Fiorello. He called the London branch of his company to inquire.
By the time Arya finished cooking, Maggie had gotten a reply from Fiorello.
Seeing Fiorello's message, she instinctively glanced at Arya.
Arya immediately sensed something was wrong, "Did something really happen to Mark?"
"He had a stroke and is in the hospital now, being taken care of by Ashley. Timothy is temporarily taking over at the Jackson Group."
Hearing this, Arya quickly took off her apron and said urgently, "How could he have a stroke out of nowhere? I need to go to London to see Mark."
Maggie also found the stroke sudden. Mark had been in good health, and he was only in his fifties. How could he suddenly have a stroke?
Maggie said, "Mom, it's already evening. What can you do now? It takes several hours to get to London, and even if you go, you might not be able to see him. Ashley definitely won't let you."
"Maggie, book me a ticket for tomorrow morning. Mark had a stroke; I have to go see him."
