Chapter 759 Melissa Kept a Man

Sunset Hills.

It was now ten in the morning, and Celine was teaching Adalia in the room.

Maggie had hired a new teacher for Adalia again. Celine teached sign language, painting, and English in the morning. In the afternoon, a math teacher came to teach Adalia, and an etiquette teacher came to teach her manners.

As long as Adalia was interested, Maggie hired a teacher to come to the house to teach her.

Adalia was a special child, and Maggie didn't want her to face discrimination outside, so she used this method to protect her.

Maggie stood at the door of the room and looked in. Adalia saw her and waved with a smile.

Maggie smiled but didn't interrupt Celine's lesson. She watched for a while at the door and then went downstairs.

It so happened that Mark came back from outside at that moment. Maggie was surprised, "Dad, when did you get here?"

She didn't know Mark had arrived.

Mark said, "I got here yesterday. I didn't have a chance to tell you. Your mom said you were busy. I was thinking of going to the office to find you later. Maggie, you haven't disappointed me. I heard you're now in charge of Visionary Futures Group and managing the company very well. I always knew you had a talent for this."

Mark's eyes were full of joy. His daughter was so capable, and he felt proud of her even when he was outside.

Maggie said, "I was on my way to the office and thought I'd stop by to see Adalia."

"Adalia is a smart kid," Mark said with emotion. "Maggie, you've lost weight."

Not only had she lost weight, but her eyes had also become more determined.

A person's changes could be seen in their expression and eyes.

When Fiorello was around, Maggie's eyes were gentle, and she always had a smile on her face. But now, Maggie was like a polished ice pillar, determined and cold.

Maggie said calmly, "Dad, I need to go to the office."

"Go ahead, get busy," Mark knew the importance of priorities.

Arya came out of the kitchen, "Maggie, you're leaving again? It's almost noon. I've almost finished cooking. It's not too late to go to the office after lunch. Adalia is also looking forward to having a meal with you."

This last sentence made Maggie compromise. She owed her daughter too much.

"Okay," Maggie changed her mind and agreed to stay. She told William, "You and Charlie go back to the office first, check the project with Caleb, and arrange dinner with Donald tonight at Happy Pub."

"Alright, I'll head back to the office then," William said. "Maggie, have a good meal with Miss Grace. The company's matters aren't urgent; we've got it covered."

"Thank you," Maggie sincerely thanked William. If it weren't for William's wholehearted support, she would have had a harder time.

William was trained by Fiorello and was very familiar with the company. Although William seemed like Maggie's assistant, he was more like a teacher, guiding Maggie step by step to familiarize herself with the company and take over each project.

After William and the driver, Charlie left, Maggie changed her clothes and went to the kitchen to help with the cooking.

She hadn't cooked in a long time. Chatting with her mother in the kitchen, such simple and happy moments had become a luxury.

Arya said, "Maggie, go rest. Mom and Rowan can handle it. You work so hard every day; you need more rest."

The housekeeper, Rowan, also said, "Maggie, go rest."

So, Maggie was "chased" out of the kitchen and went to the living room to have tea and chat with Mark.

Mark was also in the business world, so Maggie took the opportunity to learn and discuss with him.

Maggie took a sip of tea and said calmly, "Dad, recently the Jackson Group's market value has skyrocketed. It seems they've changed their previous strategy and are no longer focusing entirely on the social media industry. They've shifted to new energy. The Jackson Group has never been involved in this area before. What made Timothy and Melissa decide to get into new energy?"

The concept of new energy was something Fiorello always valued, and Maggie had heard Fiorello talk about it.

With global warming, the increase in vehicles, and rising air pollution, sharp businessmen had already started focusing on developing new energy.

Fiorello had previously set up a team specifically responsible for researching this area.

Maggie was curious about why Melissa would also get involved in this area. Given the Jackson Group's strength and Melissa's personality, she wouldn't typically choose new energy.

Mark frowned and said, "I've heard about this. They don't know anything about new energy. From what I gathered from Timothy, Melissa has an expert guiding her. I don't know who it is, just that it's a man. I think Melissa is just infatuated with that man."
