Chapter 196 Arya's Past

Ashley saw Arya in an emotional state and sneered. "Don't get me wrong, I didn't want to come find you either. If there were other ways, I would never come to you."
Arya was puzzled. "What do you mean?"
Ashley put away her previous sarcasm and said, "Let's talk in the car. I don't want to stand here in the cold wind with you."
With that, Ashley turned and walked towards the Mercedes parked on the side of the road, opened the car door, and got in.
After hesitating for a moment, perhaps still having some fantasies about Mark and wanting to know a little bit of information about him, Arya followed and got into the car.
Ashley closed the car door and asked the driver to step out, leaving only Ashley and Arya in the car.
Ashley said directly, "My daughter, Melissa Jackson, is sick and urgently needs a bone marrow transplant. Neither Mark nor I are suitable donors, so now I have come to find your daughter. They are half-sisters, and the chances of a successful match are high. If it is a successful match, I will give you seventy-five thousand dollars. I won't let your daughter miss out."
Upon hearing this, Arya trembled with anger. "Ashley, you are too much. I can't tolerate this. Maggie is not obligated to save your daughter. This is impossible."
"Don't rush to refuse, Arya. We are both mothers. You should also understand my feelings. Melissa is in critical condition. If it weren't for her critical condition, I wouldn't have come to you."
From the bottom of her heart, Ashley looked down on Arya. "If you don't agree today, then the next time who come to you, it will be Mark."
Arya widened her eyes in astonishment. "Does Mark know that you came to me? Did he agree to use Maggie to save Melissa?"
"Melissa is our daughter, and Mark and I share the responsibility of saving her. Naturally, he is aware and Maggie is also his daughter. As a father, he gave life to Maggie, so he has the right to ask Maggie to donate bone marrow."
Ashley said, "Don't worry, we will definitely not mistreat you and Maggie. You can tell me how much money you want."
Arya's chest ached with anger. "Maggie is also Mark's daughter. Mark cannot do this. For over twenty years, he has not fulfilled his duties as a father, so he has no right to demand that Maggie donate bone marrow to Melissa; this is impossible."
Arya angrily got out of the car and left. Maggie had just escaped from the clutches of death, and Arya could not jeopardize Maggie's health.
Over twenty years ago, the young Arya fell in love with Mark, but Mark was took away by his family. Not long after, news spread that Mark and Ashley were going to get married.
At that time, Arya was already three months pregnant.
Mark and Ashley were a perfect match, and the Jackson family looked down on Arya at the time.
Arya went to find Mark, was humiliated by the Jackson family, and driven out. They demanded that Arya have an abortion, and Arya did not meet with Mark.
Not long after, Arya received a breakup letter from Mark, asking her not to look for him again. Arya and Mark could not be together in this lifetime.
The young and naive Arya couldn't bear to have an abortion, so she gave birth to Maggie.
After writing the breakup letter, Mark disappeared without a trace.
The Jackson family also moved away from Cyberland, and Arya lost all contact with Mark.
Arya never told anyone about these things, silently enduring it all by herself. She wanted Maggie to avoid making the same mistakes she did.
After giving birth to Maggie, Arya didn't let her have the Jackson surname, instead using Mrs. Stark's surname. This was to ease the conflict with Mrs. Stark at the time and to keep Maggie away from the Jackson family.
Over twenty years passed, but to Arya's surprise, Ashley still found her.
Back at home, Arya couldn't sleep. The Jackson family had been wealthy twenty years ago, and now they still seemed well-off. Ashley was capable of anything. What if she forced Maggie to donate bone marrow? What should she do then?
Arya was worried. Since Ashley had found her, Arya had been absent-minded and burdened with heavy thoughts.
In the following days, Arya was restless and often distracted, and she didn't respond even when Maggie asked her curiously, "Mom, is there something on your mind? You seem preoccupied."
