Chapter 537 The Source of Calamity

Isabella was expressionless. After her face was ruined, she also developed some psychological issues. Now, hearing Olivia say this, she felt very unbalanced.

"Yeah, why is God so unfair?" Isabella said dully, "She can marry Fiorello, and win his heart. But me, I've been married to James for eight years and got nothing. Now my face is ruined. We're both women, why is there such a big difference? I did delay things on purpose, but wasn't Maggie at fault too? She harmed Kimberly, and Fiorello can still forgive her. "

"Yes, God is too unfair. Why do all the good things fall on her?" Olivia said sharply, "If Fiorello hadn't messed around with you, would you have fallen for him? It's not entirely your fault."

Isabella's eyes flashed, her expression somewhat crazed. She said, "He must have feelings for me too. Otherwise, why would he give me a handkerchief? Why would he bail me out of the police station in the middle of the night? Mom, don't you think so?"

"Yes, if a man isn't interested in a woman, he wouldn't care so much," Olivia said, taking out some medicine. "Daughter, take your medicine first. Let's heal your wounds. I believe in you; you'll definitely live better than Maggie."

Olivia was competitive. She had competed with Arya all her life, always wanting to outshine Arya. When others praised Arya for her beauty, Olivia would get angry. Arya didn't marry the right man, but Olivia married well, which had made her proud for decades.

Isabella obediently took the medicine. Even though she knew it wouldn't heal her face, she took it for some psychological comfort.

Olivia continued, "Isabella, you must hold on. You're my only daughter; we can't give up. Preserve your resources for future needs, understand?"

Isabella nodded. She understood this principle, but Jenny didn't.

Even though Jenny was pregnant, Kevin couldn't bail her out. The Holmes Group went bankrupt after Jenny was arrested, and Kevin was too busy to help.

Jenny had nothing to hide; she confessed all her crimes.

She was pregnant. Even if she was sentenced to death, she wouldn't die now.

Jenny had no intention of sitting idly by. She made a fuss in prison, demanding to see Gregory and Joseph.

She was carrying the Flores family's child. They might not care about her, but they had to care about the child she was carrying.

The police ignored her, so Jenny started hitting her own stomach and jumping up and down, trying to cause a scene to get out of there.

Jenny was proud; she couldn't stand staying in prison.

When Jenny started bleeding, she cried out in pain, "Someone, help! I'm bleeding, the baby is in trouble."

The police were genuinely worried about the baby, so they rushed her to the hospital, posted guards, and immediately notified the Flores family.

Joseph was troubled when he heard about Jenny's situation.

After all, it was the Flores family's child . They couldn't just ignore it.

Joseph found Gregory at a club, seeing him surrounded by women, looking carefree. Joseph was furious.

Joseph said sternly, "Everyone else, get out."

The club girls, seeing Joseph, wisely left.

Gregory lazily sat on the sofa, looking at Joseph with a wicked smile. "Mr. Flores, you came all the way here. What's the matter?"

Joseph walked over, sat down, and said, "Jenny is in the hospital. She is guilty of killing your grandmother, but she's carrying your child. You can't just ignore that."

Gregory sneered, "Mr. Flores wants to raise it? Looks like you are naturally good at raising illegitimate children. Great idea."

"Gregory," Joseph said, burning with anger, "look at what you've become."

"Isn't this all thanks to your upbringing?" Gregory said with a wicked smile. "Don't come to me about Jenny. Her and the child's life or death have nothing to do with me. If you want a grandson, I'll find a woman tonight to give you one. In ten months, I guarantee you'll have a grandson."

"That's nonsense. It's a human life, already six months along. It's your child; you can't just abandon it," Joseph said, knowing Gregory's grudge, speaking earnestly, "Gregory, as a man, you should take responsibility. I wronged your mother, but when she said she was pregnant with you, I never thought of abandoning you. You are my son, and I treat you equally."

After saying this, Joseph left. Gregory didn't even look at him, but he was shaken by his words.

It turned out he was also someone who was expected.

Gregory took a big gulp of the wine on the table and walked out.
