Chapter 428 Kimberly's Disguise
Ariel described, "He's about thirty, five-eight, medium build, curly blonde hair. I've seen him a few times, even at night."
Maggie was shocked. "Ariel, why didn't you say anything before? When did you first see him?"
"At first, I didn't think it was a big deal, so I forgot to mention it," Ariel recalled. "It was about a month ago. I saw him climbing out of our yard once. I thought he was a thief and asked him about it. He said he dropped something in our yard and was just picking it up. I didn't suspect anything at the time. But last night, I saw him wandering around our front door again."
Maggie quickly said, "Check the front door surveillance. I want to see."
Nothing had been stolen from the house recently, so it didn't seem like he was a thief.
Arya said, "How come I've never seen him?"
If Ariel hadn't mentioned it, Maggie wouldn't have known about this at all.
Maggie pulled up the front door surveillance and checked the footage based on the time Ariel mentioned.
Sure enough, the surveillance video showed a man lurking around the front door.
The man was wearing a hat and mask. Around nine o'clock last night, he climbed into the yard, sat on the steps for a while, and then climbed back out.
"Not a thief?" Maggie was puzzled. "If he climbed in but didn't steal anything, what was he doing?"
From the surveillance video, it was clear the man didn't do anything.
Arya said, "I was home at that time last night. I was in the studio with Adalia, keeping her company while she painted."
Maggie turned to Arya. "Mom, you didn't hear anything last night?"
"No," Arya said, "I didn't hear a thing."
Ariel added, "This guy is always at the front door. I've only seen him climb out of the yard once, and he didn't look like he had stolen anything."
Maggie stared at the surveillance footage, pondering. "Who is this guy?"
Maggie really didn't recognize him. She watched the footage repeatedly but couldn't figure out what the man was up to.
Even if nothing was stolen, Maggie had to inform Fiorello about the intruder.
This matter wasn't trivial, but it wasn't significant either.
Maggie sent a screenshot of the video to Fiorello: [Ariel says she first saw this man loitering around the house a month ago.]
They hadn't been in the new house for long.
At that moment, Fiorello was on his way to the Flores Mansion after dropping Adalia off at school.
Last night, Kimberly had left with an excuse. Out of respect for Maggie, Fiorello didn't want to embarrass Kimberly, so he didn't pursue it at the time. But he had to find her now.
Seeing Maggie's message, Fiorello furrowed his brow and handed the screenshot to Brian: [Look into this guy's background.]
At the Flores Mansion, since returning last night, Kimberly had been very anxious.
Her actions had been exposed, and Jenny had sex with Gregory. Jenny liked Fiorello, and now Kimberly was worried Jenny might cause trouble after sleeping with the wrong guy under her guidance.
"Mom, what's wrong?" Joseph was about to leave when he saw Kimberly sitting on the living room sofa, lost in thought, frowning, and looking dejected. He asked out of curiosity.
Kimberly, deep in thought, was startled by Joseph's call.
She patted her chest. "Joseph, you scared me."
Joseph sat down and asked, "Mom, what's going on?"
"Nothing. If you're going out, just go," Kimberly said impatiently, waving her hand. Thinking about Gregory and Jenny, she called Joseph back, "Joseph, when are you bringing Gregory back? That poor kid lost his mom and is a Flores. He can't stay out there forever."
"Mom, why are you bringing this up again?" Joseph frowned. "Eleanor is still mad. It's been months, and she hasn't forgiven me. Don't mention bringing Gregory back."
"She has no right to keep a Flores family child away," Kimberly snorted, "Listen to me, bring Gregory back. Not only that, but we also need to arrange a marriage for him. Gregory is not young anymore; it's time for him to get married."
"Mom, please don't say that in front of Eleanor. Just leave it to me. I know what to do," Joseph said, not wanting Kimberly to meddle. "I'm already in the wrong. I can't bring Gregory back without Eleanor's consent."
"What can she do if she disagrees? Divorce you?" Kimberly's voice grew louder. "Joseph, you're my son. It's only natural for a son to listen to his mother."
Before Kimberly could finish, the butler walked over. "Mrs. Flores, Mr. Fiorello Flores is back."
Hearing that Fiorello was back, Kimberly, who had been full of energy, immediately pretended to be weak. She grabbed Joseph's arm. "Joseph, help me back to my room. I think I'm sick."
Fiorello's cold voice came through. "Grandma, it's a mental illness. Rest won't cure it."
