Chapter 464 Farewell, Seeking Revenge on Kimberly

Maggie gave a bitter smile. "Mom, you're overthinking it. You should head back. Adalia's probably scared at home. Don't worry, I'm okay."

But this was far from okay. Just two more months and the baby would've been viable. Now, at five months, it was gone. No one could truly understand Maggie's pain.

Arya thought about Adalia. Maggie would never leave her alone, so she didn't dwell on it.

"Alright, I'll go back. I'll come again tomorrow," Arya said. "I'll bring Adalia to pick you up from the hospital."

Maggie managed a small smile. "Okay, I want to eat your baked chicken wings. Can you make some tomorrow?"

It was the first time Maggie had smiled since the miscarriage.

Arya felt a wave of relief, thinking Maggie was starting to move on. Her nose tingled as she said, "Yes, I'll make you baked chicken wings tomorrow."

"Okay." Maggie leaned against the headboard, smiling as she watched Arya leave.

Arya felt much more at ease and said goodbye to Fiorello before heading out.

After Arya left, Fiorello came into the room. He sat by the bed, not knowing what to say, and Maggie didn't feel like talking either. They just sat there in silence.

Maggie smelled alcohol on Fiorello and asked, "You drank again?"

It wasn't the first time Fiorello had been drinking. That night, after following Holden back, he got drunk. The next day when he came to the hospital, Maggie smelled the alcohol but didn't say anything.

Hearing Maggie talk to him, Fiorello was a bit stunned and quickly replied, "Just a little. I drank with Holden."

He had promised Maggie he wouldn't drink again, but this time he was really upset. Without the numbness of alcohol, he couldn't sleep, so he drank with Holden.

Maggie nodded, not knowing where to look, and said weakly, "That's good."

"Maggie," Fiorello murmured, "Do you want to rest?"

Maggie looked at Fiorello with longing eyes. "I want to go out for a walk. Can I?"

She hadn't left the hospital room for ten days.

Maggie took the initiative to talk to him and made a request. Fiorello was very happy and couldn't refuse her.

Fiorello said excitedly, "Okay, I'll get a wheelchair right now. I'll take you downstairs for a walk and put a hat on you so you don't catch a cold."

Maggie listened to everything he said. "Okay."

Fiorello immediately found a wheelchair, wrapped Maggie in thick clothes, and put a hat and mask on her, making sure no wind could get in. Then he carried her into the wheelchair, pushing her to the small park downstairs.

It was dusk, and the clouds in the sky were particularly beautiful.

Maggie looked up at the sky, watching the clouds, and many memories came to mind. "Fiorello, the day we met, the weather was just as nice. Time flies. We've known each other for over a year. A year ago, I couldn't have imagined we would get married."

Fiorello pushed Maggie slowly through the small park, his voice warm. "Once you recover, we'll have more time. I promised to take you on a honeymoon to see the Northern Lights."

Maggie said, "I've only seen pictures of the Northern Lights. They're beautiful."

Fiorello stopped, squatted beside her, and held her hands. "Maggie, I know you're hurting inside. Just because you're talking to me doesn't mean you've forgiven me. I know what you're thinking. I'm sorry I couldn't give our child justice. Once you're discharged, I'll take you and Adalia abroad for a while, just the three of us. How about that?"

The best way for Maggie to forget the sadness was to leave this heartbreaking place.

Fiorello had been working with Holden these past few days, letting Holden take over the company. He planned to take a year off to spend time with Maggie.

With Joseph around, even if Holden wasn't the best at business, he wouldn't ruin Visionary Futures Group in a year.

After everything that happened, Fiorello realized that nothing was more important than family.

Hearing this, Maggie's eyes welled up, and her lashes got wet. She knew from Holden that Fiorello had taken a gun to confront Kimberly and that Joseph was now keeping an eye on Kimberly to prevent Fiorello from doing anything drastic.

There were some things Fiorello just couldn't do. He couldn't destroy himself or live with the guilt of killing a family member.

He had shown his stance and grieved for the child. That was enough. As for the rest, she would handle it.

Maggie squeezed Fiorello's hand tightly, her voice choked. "Fiorello, I've never regretted marrying you. I feel your love for Adalia and me. I love you and want to grow old with you. I don't regret meeting you."

As she spoke, tears fell from Maggie's eyes. She leaned in and kissed Fiorello's lips.

It was the first time she had so clearly and openly admitted that she loved him.

Fiorello felt Maggie's body trembling. He held her and deepened the kiss, hoping she could come out of her sorrow, no matter what it took.

The sunset shone through the bare trees, casting a faint glow on them. Fallen leaves drifted down as they embraced and kissed, time seemingly frozen, creating the most beautiful picture.

That night, Fiorello finally got close to Maggie. They lay on the hospital bed, holding each other and talking a lot.

As they talked, Fiorello fell asleep. He was too exhausted. Previously, he could only sleep soundly with the numbness of alcohol. Tonight, holding Maggie and smelling her scent, he could sleep peacefully.

He fell asleep, but Maggie couldn't. She looked at him, her eyes filled with tears, her hands gently caressing his face. She knew this might be the last time she touched his face. She wanted to remember his appearance well.

Maggie looked at him with deep reluctance, kissed his cheek and lips emotionally.

Fiorello, too tired, didn't react much. Maggie made her final farewell in her mind, carefully got up, put on a coat, and left the hospital alone.

When Fiorello woke up, it was already the next morning. His arms were empty, and Maggie was nowhere to be seen.

At first, Fiorello didn't think much of it until he searched the entire hospital and couldn't find Maggie. Then he knew something was wrong.

Arya also came with Adalia to pick Maggie up from the hospital. When she found out Maggie was missing, she panicked.

Arya asked, "Fiorello, where could Maggie have gone?"

Adalia was also worried. "Daddy, I want Mommy."

Fiorello thought of Maggie's unusual behavior yesterday and realized Maggie had planned this.

Fiorello thought of something and immediately called Joseph, "Dad, is Grandma at home?"

Joseph answered the phone, hearing Fiorello's cold tone, thinking Fiorello was coming to confront Kimberly again, said, "Your grandma knows she was wrong. She's been bedridden, muttering apologies to Maggie and you, and has tried to end her life several times, but I stopped her."

As Joseph spoke, he walked to Kimberly's room, opened the door, and found she wasn't there. His face changed, and he told Fiorello on the phone, "Your grandma isn't home. I don't know when she left."

Maggie was missing, and Kimberly wasn't at the Flores Mansion. Fiorello quickly hung up and told Arya, "Mom, you take Adalia home first. I'll go find Maggie."
